I can't see us signing Slimani without selling as Deeney well. Signing Slimani with Okaka leaving gives us Deeney, Slimani and Gray all fighting for the one position - which would be far too much wasted on wages and transfer fees that can't really be justified.
Yes, do think we need another winger especially as it seems that Carrillo will be going back to Benfica at the end of the season. One that comes to mind is Raphina of Vitoria Guinarães who play in Portugal and the Europa League. Tricky Brazilian-Italian winger who has also been linked with Udinese, so would be understandable if we had him in our peripheral vision
We need another attacker, either first choice striker or a wide player , and a first choice CB. Those wouold be the two areas I would be looking at in Jan.
Hopefully Prodl and Kaboul will be back fit by January so CB can hold off until Summer, if there is a reasonably priced winger and striker out there then go for it, but January really isn't the time to be spunking your budget.

Getting in someone up top to replace an outgoing Deeney and Okaka. Central defenders tha can play zonal marking and not get injured every other week. A left back that can push Mr Holebas. Exit door Janmaat, Capoue, Djede Dje.

Whilst I agree that Janmaat is injured a lot and Djedje isn’t in the squad - at present they are both fit. I’m not arguing you saying we should sell both - it’s the fact you’re suggesting we don’t need a backup RB that seems odd.
Just a thought what's the chances of poaching Ryan Bertand off Southampton, not nessesarily in January but at the end of the season.
