I think it seems odd he hasn't been near the squad. If Marco thinks he is good enough, then no need, but if he isn't right now, but may be next year he needs to play. Fact is, cheap or not, if he isn't considered up to it he shouldn't get near the team.
Again, as he's backup. We play with Femenia and Holebas starting, with Janmaat on the bench. If Holebas gets injured then Femenia plays on the left and Janmaat on the right - we aren't particularly weakened by that and that's still strong as far as options go, so there's no need for Zeegelaar to even be near the team. However if then we have a problem with Femenia or Janmaat (which could happen with Janmaats injury record), then we're left very light - step forward Zeegelaar. He's not been near in the squad as there's been no need for him to be, but he's there if we need him. I'll admit that I'm not particularly taken with his playing CV or the comments from Sporting fans when we signed him, but he wasn't bought to start games or challenge for a first-team place, he was bought as a backup and that's what he'll likely remain as. It's impossible for a club like us to have a full squad of players ready for regular first team action at the highest level.

Agreed. Femenia is perfect back up to the excellent Holebas. Summer is the time to replace him. Femenias left foot is as good as his right. Like any Spanish player who has been in the Barcelona and Real set up his technique will be second to none. For me, we need a high quality CB and preferably a leader and organiser. I wouldnt be surprised if we go in for a high calibre CDM, someone like Hector. The only reason being that Doucoure has become so important that if he became injured I would worry for us.
Hector could learn from history to protect Troy should a huge and mysterious buffet be left outside the WFC training ground.

If he was PL quality, he'd be playing in it imo. We are better than players from **** clubs like Leeds.

He's been really bad in the U23s. I think he needs to go to a smaller club to get his confidence back, but I'd be worried that he currently looks completely out of shape and that tends to suggest that his work rate/ commitment is poor also. Don't get me wrong, I'd have him. But not for any significant sum of money.

A striker for the outgoing Okaka, preferably Slimani. A winger is also needed. Pereyra sadly can't be relied on and an injury to Carrillo or Richarlison leaves us with Success. I'm still hoping that Success fulfils his potential here but he's too inconsistent like most young players. I could even see Zarate coming back in January, it's obviously something they've considered otherwise they wouldn't have inserted the recall clause.
