Dreadful,dreadful news. Jana Novotna has died the WTA announced this morning,aged 49. I only met her once but Mr IBB knew her well and she was a delightful person. Very sad. RIP Jana.
Very sad indeed. I can still remember that time she cried after getting thrashed by steffi graf or whoever it was. It was very touching and she was very endearing, and from then on I always kept an eye out for her results and was pleased when she went on to win wimbledon. 49 years old. Terrifying.
Nice post RC but she was hardly thrashed. She was up 4-1 and 40-30 in the final set and 'choked'. So pleased she won eventually.
