You could do an Odenwingie & simply turn up in the Colney car park in a couple of weeks. Provided your price tag is less than £1m, you could be on a 7 year contract by St Swithin’s Day.
It looks coolly odd to see Sir Alistair Cook on the scorecard. Fielding a saint would be extraordinary. One short of Abdi.
We defo need to keep Ken Sema to fulfil my dream of fielding a pulse and grain fantasy XI. So far we have Dimingos Quinoa. Ken Semalina. Am hoping we can sign Declan Rice from WHU to make a tasty 3 man midfield .
Good call and lots of tradition in this area with defenders Keith Millet, John Barley and upfront Marvin Sorghum.
I think we have actually joined the bottom feeders! This morning linked with a clapped out 35 year old Adebayour instead of Sarr or the boy from Porto. It's only taken a week or two and our dreams have been dashed of landing a big fish this summer.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...ited-Watford-eye-shock-Emmanuel-Adebayor.html Not even going to create a new link for this rumour. Daily Fail doing their thing though. No doubt tomorrow they will link us with a shock move for Les Ferdinand.
Currently getting ten bells kicked out of him by Tanzania at the African Cup of Nations. Can't wait for us to sign him for £40m only for him to be injured all season
Talks of £35M, I would be very very shocked if we were to spend this much on a player. However, I always seem to get carried away with a bit of excitement when I see this kind of thing.
Persistent rumours of Sarr and Trezeguet gives me hope that the transfer team are prioritising a winger. Sign a winger, offload Okaka/Peñaranda/Prodl, then it’s 1 in 1 out from there. Edit: why was an umlaut censored?
Presuming you mean Deulofeu, I can't see an incoming winger replacing him, seeing as he hasn't played a winger for us. Also we are in need of a right winger because Hughes needs to be playing in the middle or on the bench, the right wing doesn't allow him to show his ability.
For winger read "nippy attacking player playing wide or off a central striker" which is what Delia has been playing for us.
Would prefer to think that we keep Pereyra and Deulo whilst signing someone for the right handside. We currently only have Sema who is natural to this position and he looks far from natural on a football pitch.
I can't believe that we will add any further significant signings this summer with out funding it by selling one of Doucs, RP or GD.
Why? Deulofeu has played as a forward for us. Pereyra and Hughes have played left and right midfield respectively, despite both being naturally more central players. Sema is our only alternative for those positions and he isn’t that good. I think we need a new winger even if nobody leaves. Sell Pereyra or Deulofeu and we’d need to buy replacements for them as well.
I'd be very surprised if he goes anywhere other than Roma. We are not going to pay £35 million anytime soon.
any further 'significant' signings, wouldn't call any of our signings significant. I would think we would have had a decent budget this summer, £20M or so. Sell Lukebakio for 15-20Mill and suddenly we have some funds without selling any of our key players. I genuinely don't think we will sell any key players this summer unless someone comes in with a huge bid that we can't turn down, we can use sales of younger players and fringe players to fund moves to improve the squad.
I really hope we sign him but cant see us spending £35m. Bobby P to Torino or middle east/china is the most likely big money sale but I cant see anyone paying £25m for him and £20m or less would be disappointing.
Have to agree. Selling Dodi, Okaka, Success and possibly Penaranda gets us the funds to strengthen without touching key players.
Torino may have already given up on Bobby P and probably can't afford him anyway. Seem more interested in Massina.
Why do you think anyone will give us anything like decent funds for Success or Penaranda? They've done nothing for 2+yrs. Whilst they are young, their good Granada seasons are in the rear view mirror by some distance. They've had loans at lesser clubs since and done nothing. Thats not to say they can't thrive still here or elsewhere. But if we put them up for sale, they wouldn't fetch much. And wouldn't make much of a dent in terms of raising £35m.
I thought the same thing. Lukebakio wants out, plenty of teams want him. We want £20mil for him. So I would offer him plus £15mil. Obviously this isn’t FM/FIFA but you would think they would entertain something like this.
We don't need to raise £35M though, we will already have cash ready realistically just selling Lukebakio would give us enough to spend £35M. Not saying we will do that by any means, but we aren't this poor club with a 2 million budget. also the fact we've strengthened the backline for cheap, means there will be funds to spend elsewhere.
Agree with those stating that we need to sign another right winger in addition to whatever our current squad situation is, as Hughes is neither very good, nor a right winger. Dunno why so many seem so keen to sell Lukebakio though. Supposedly his ideal league is still the Premier League. It could just be that rather than really wanting out he'd just be happy with an improved contract with us. Either way, I'd sooner be rid of Pereyra than him - Dodi might not be truly ready for another season or so, but has a lot of potential, while Pereyra has been poor for ages. Also, I've not seen much of Sarr tbh, but does he really have more potential than Lukebakio?! Both are the same age, and last season Sarr got 8 goals and 6 assists in 2,800 minutes at Rennes, while Lukebakio got 10 goals and 3 assists in 2,000 minutes. at Fortuna - a better contribution rate than Sarr at the same placed team in a similar standard league. It therefore makes no sense at all to swap Sarr for Lukebakio while paying £10mil on top! They should probably at least be valued the same, if not Lukebakio perhaps even more.
