Over the last couple of days has our influx of visitors slowed the site down? It has on my PC but that could be me!!
I'm usually very sensitive if I have even 1 page load slowly, but I've not noticed anything amiss since the hosts moved us to a new server. If I continue to get comments I'll certainly look into it, but for me no probs.
Found it slow a couple of weeks ago but don't think it was anything to do with site activity. Been fine for me almost all the time. May be more down to your own connection or PC. any i use Macs.
Site shows a number of `pages not available` messages today which has not happened before - get a refund on your rental Admin;D
like that for me too. very very annoying. takes 2 minutes to nearly load then 'page cannot be display'
Bloody crawling along this morning an d it's not my connection as I've tested it here: http://www.speedtest.net/
I'm not sure it's because of the influence of visitors and member activity, althought there is alot, but I seem to find the vBulletin software a bit slower than other vBulletin boards I've been on...
When we had speed problems at the end of last year, I wrote a stinking letter of complaint to the hosts. They moved us to a "quieter" server. Since then it's been fine. They told me all the speed issues were related to the SQL side, not the VBulletin software, (which can lag if too many plugins are installed). I quickly popped in this morning and noticed the speed was a problem, so created a ticket. I believe they rebooted all services between 11 and 12 today, hence the page loading problems then. Reports from Hornmeister after the match suggested all had been well with the chat mod, which can be a major resource hog. All seems fine now.
FYI the hosts are performing maintenance on all their servers and systems today, all day, so there could well be speed/database issues at random times today. Nothing any of us can do about it unfortunately, and no warning given by them about it
Only just got to this thread due to the slowness of the site, having already created a thread about it as there wasn't one on the front page of today's posts and at the time page 2 wouldn't load, sorry.
