I'm a Category A, but haven't been to many away games recently. Does anyone know if I could lose my privilege, or if once you're in, you're in for life?

I imagine you will be downgraded at the point you go below the benchmark

last few years I've got to category A away by sometime around Feb and back to category C at the start of the next season ... seems fair enough to me.

Yes absolutely. I think cat A is a ST holder who's been to at least 15 away games since July 2014. I expect next season that will change to July 2015.

Yep I've been downgraded from A to C since the Prem years. I loved championship away days. Cheap, fun, quirky grounds. The Prem has killed all that for me.

Oh I loved the cheap, fun, quirky grounds such as Spotland, Haig Avenue, Recreation Ground, Plainmoor, Brunton Park, Victoria Ground, Feethams, Edgeley Park, Gigg Lane. Pity the Hornets team that played at those "grounds" (until GT arrived) was utter sh1te. No question of Away Game categories then - if you were passing the supporters coach just before it departed for a game, they would drag you on it.

Gay Meadow, Blundell Park, County Ground, Old Den. What amazing days out.

Yup, although you can only go up a category during a season, not down. So it'd wait until summer.

At the moment the eligibility period goes back to July 2014. The club has fixed it to then since promotion and simply marginally increased the number of games needed to qualify as the seasons have gone by. You'd struggle to drop out of Group A if you go to 2 or 3 aways a season if they carry on as they are. If you've been to none this season, and were already close to the 15 needed to get into Cat A last summer, you might drop down to C for next season.

    Thanks for all the responses.

I better start planning some away trips this season then!

  10. Could have secured your status for £30 if you'd bought tickets for Woking, Newcastle and QPR...

  11. Another tip is to make your fan ID available for other people looking for away games - someone will no doubt be glad of it for Chelsea for example.

Reading and Everton were also ridiculously cheap.

The downside is having to travel to and then watch Reading and Everton.

Cup games don't count towards quota

  15. That's what I thought but the categories listed on the site don't exclude them - just ''away ticket purchases'

    They did for me.

Apparently if you don't go to 99% of away games you lose your spot to some kids from Colchester.

Not making it to the half time whistle should have you downgraded.

  19. Not making it to Oliver Grove should have you highgraded.
