Illness After Astra Zeneca Vaccine ?

Or, as we would no doubt discuss in my seminars, a balance between autonomy and paternalism.

 

By an OAZ syringe wielding medic - only asking because I have my 2nd jab in a month's time?

 

I'm in my early 30's and managed to get the AZ jab yesterday after a surplus at a chemist nearby.

About 6 hours after the jab, I began to feel poorly. Slightl headache, v cold etc. The usual. I got a dreadful night's sleep as I was alternativing between very cold and boiling. Took me hours to get to sleep but I got there in the end.

Still not feeling right this morning but definitely better than last night.

 

Has my first AZ jab last week.

My only symptom was a dead arm for about 3 days - probably to do with them jabbing a needle in it!

 

I had the AZ jab yesterday morning, my arm was a bit achy and I had a thumping headache for most of the evening. I woke up this morning with what felt like a hangover but I'm fine now.

 

Vaccines are now open to the gen pop around me and I had my first Moderna dose.

I didn't feel the injection at all. My arm was a bit sore for about a day afterwards, but it just felt like someone had punched it fairly hard, nothing worse than that. No other side effects; I felt perfectly fine in all other respects.

 

Had mine yesterday. Took the wife to get hers as she's over 45 (just) but I couldn't book one as I'm under 45 (just). She was last and asked if there were any spares and there were 2, so she rang and I went in.

Dead arm today and feeling flu like - aching joints, headache, tired. I did also go for a run, which probably wasn't clever.

 

I think you’ll find that’s “getting stuffed by your local rivals itis”. Nothing to do with vaccine.

 

Just to rub it in there were no slots in Leighton Buzzard, so we had to go to f**king Dunstable.

 

What difference does it make? They’re both in the Devil’s county.

 

To add balance to all of this I had the jab a few weeks ago and had no side effects at all

 

Me neither. Well, a very slight feeling as if I was mildly drunk overnight. Actually quite pleasant.

 

I had the same reaction, it felt like a hangover the next morning but otherwise OK.

 

Slightly sore arm still 4 days after the AZ jab. Other than that, had a migraine over the weekend with the associated post event drowsiness that delivers. Whether that was triggered by the vaccine or not I can't tell as they're a fairly regular occurrence in my noggin but if I catch them in time as soon as my vision goes weird, with a cocktail of pain killers and alcohol* they're bearable and short lived.

To add some more balance, I'm 43, not had any vaccine and I'm fine and still not dead.

 

Yes I remember the late great RookeryDad saying the same thing pre vaccines.

 

I had mine last weekend. I’m early 30s and pretty fit.

I took paracetamol every 4 hours after the vaccine and spent a day feeling pretty hungover.

The rest of the week I haven’t felt perfect, but I imagine about the same as I’d feel if I had asymptotic Covid.

 

Seems there is a fairly common theme here. Had mine last Tuesday afternoon, woke up the following morning with what felt like a fairly nasty hangover. Went to work and by 8pm I was fine. Arm ached for about two days

 

Proof finally that it's not just everyone, but everything finds him repellent.

 

My first AZ jab was yesterday. Had a crappy nights sleep with cold/flu like symptoms.

 

We had our second jabs this week. Both went out like alight during our usual post-lunch newspaper reading on jab day and the day after. The sleeps lasted between one and two hours. Apart from that, fine, except that we've both had a bit of a runny nose like a very mild cold..

 

I had my first dose of AZ yesterday. No side effects so far. Felt a little more drowsy than usual in the evening but other that fine, so I guess I’m one of the lucky ones.

 

My sister had two Pfizer and no real side effects from either I believe.

 

Had my 2nd Moderna on Thursday.

Arm was painful to the touch, but I didn't feel anything otherwise.

Had a day of mild flu-like feelings on Friday, no fever. Headaches yesterday. Back to normal today.

Certainly nothing that would have put me off getting it if I had known ahead of time.

 

An update for you. I started feeling achy and cold about lunchtime yesterday. Slept from about 8pm until 7am or so this morning. I feel better but still not 100%.

As others have said, nothing that would’ve put me off if I knew what side effects I’d have.

 

Got my second pffzzer next week. Will report back if Bill lets me.

Had my first AZ jab early yesterday morning. Been taking paracetamol for the sore arm. Started to feel more tired than usual in the evening.
Have that tired, hangover feeling today. No fever or bad headaches.

 

Does that mean those who felt no different after the jab have an immune system that don't work properly and won't be protected?
