Yes hopefully this goes through. Absolutely dreadful signing who couldn’t contribute, just when we were showing signs of recovery as well under Pearson.

Just to be absolutely clear, I won't be posting critiques of the deal or worrying about the fee if we somehow manage to unhinge this powder puff makeweight from our club.

Shame they didn't say "important" before selling Doucoure or Estupinan. Missed a trick there.

If we had signed an actual footballer rather than just transferring funds to Udinese we would quite likely have stayed up.

Utterly pointless player - He is so small and weak he makes Pereyra look like a Fijian forward. He is not particularly quick, can't cross, can't dribble and can't score. I honestly have no idea what he is supposed to do, but he doesn't seem to do it well.

He was just lucky he had the winning ticket in the raffle, Perhaps it’s best he goes back to his office day job at Udinese!

To be fair, a lot of that isn’t true. His career before us is decent. He hasn’t suddenly lost that because of a few months with us where we barely played him. He’s obviously not motivated anymore because of our circumstances and the way he was immediately sidelined by Pearson - a bad career choice by him. But the larger body of evidence in his career to date says he’s not a bad player. Just a pointless signing.

I'm all for giving a player a chance but not seen anything yet to suggest he will be an asset for us. Bit of a pointless signing and one who wont be missed if he leaves.

I don't really see much in his overall career to write home about though

He didn't really do much at Udinese though did he - 5 goals and in 2500 minutes as a striker is sub par at best.

He is 24 and has had one good season in his career to date and even then he was a 1 in 3 striker in a weak division.

No idea if he is any good or not. No idea if we should sell him or not, but he doesn't seem suited to Championship football.

He was indeed a pointless signing, and not at all what we needed in the January transfer window.

Had we signed a half decent defender instead of this guy, we may have stayed up. However, let's not forget hsi contribution in the Spurs game when he cleared the ball off the line.

It's clear that none of the Watford managers he played under fancied him in the slightest. If he goes back to Italy, I hope he manages to get his career back on track. Good luck to him.

Are you just looking at black and white stats though or have you actually watched any of his gameplay for Huracan or Udinese? He’s one where his transfermarkt stats aren’t exactly accurate.

He’s played primarily as a RW in his career but can be used as a striker and has indeed played there at times. But his goal scoring record isn’t bad for a RW. He’s not a bad player. He’s just not suited to English football. Combine that with the situation we brought him into, the fact we didn’t play him and the fact the season was suspended about a month after his arrival and it’s played out like it has. A horrible bit of scouting by us as we should have recognised he wasn’t suited and wasn’t what we needed. Plus he does not suit the current formation whatsoever. But he’s not terrible.

Has a role to play this season I feel. What club that role is at though I dont know.

I'm not going to pretend I regularly watched Huracan or Udinese, but what footage I could find of him after we were linked left me unconvinced. I spoke to a few people who follow Udinese and Serie A more generally on reddit and they were confused why we were buying him - they said words to the effect that he was one of those players who was okay at everything, but didn't really do anything special. His limited performances for us since then have accorded with that description.

All his time playing as a right winger was back in Argentina, and while he might be okay at it at that level, he hasn't really done anything since coming to the top leagues.

I bear no ill will towards the bloke, I just think it is some disastrous scouting by the Pozzos.

Oh yeah, he was never gonna be a top level PL performer.

I just think he’s a victim of circumstances with us as much as anything. If he was suited to the English game, he’d be good at this level. But there’s not enough potential to keep him around.

Yeah the circumstances absolutely didn't help him - as said I think most of the fault here lies with Gino / Giraldi etc.

I just don't even really understand what he is supposed to be as a player, and how that was supposed to help us.

He didn't cost a fortune, but if he had been a defender have been one of our most expensive, which I think says a lot.

Ironically his best contribution as a WFC player has been a defensive one, the goal-line clearance against Spuds :D

    A failure indeed.

Good. Wimpy, doesn't want to be here, loser's mentality for agreeing to the transfer to us in the first place.

Only room for winners on Big Vlad's promotion bus.

Hard to think of a more pathetic action than him kicking the dugout in frustration at Newport after yet again being shrugged off the ball.

Didn’t sound like a move is massively imminent going by what Ivic said today? Strikes me as one that we would like to keep around but know he won’t be a regular so won’t stand in his way of regular game time elsewhere. I wonder if we feel like he would need replacing though.
