Don’t see it as an odd acquisition, we need depth for every position and (on the proviso 433 / 4231 is here to stay..) 4 wide players would be the minimum for me

Having said that, I will contradict myself a little by saying he's a cheap option, still retained within the Pozzo empire and can be useful. For the right side, we have Sarr, Gerri, Pussetto even Gray can play there at a push and did so for Burnley. In the middle we have Deeney, Welbeck, Pedro, Success and Gray and on the left we have Gerri, Welbeck, Pereyra, Pedro, Success. We have Sema and Penaranda out on loan, but on our books. Also we have those players in the pipeline coming through such as Cucho and Suarez.

But, it seems like he's a cheap signing, a player of quality and someone the owner doesn't want to leave the group. He's not having fun at Udinese so a switch may be of benefit to the player.
