Thought I'd make a collection of fascinating (imo) sporting images. If you have anything to add/contribute, please do!

Most are football, but there's a few from other sports. I haven't included anything involving Watford.

Geoff Hurst with his "was it over the line?" goal against Germany, World Cup final 1966
    [IMG]

    They think it's all over...................

Celebrations on the pitch upon winning the WC - something that won't happen in my lifetime:(
    [IMG]

A not-quite-so-famous picture of Bobby Moore with the trophy.....

    ....And the famous one!

Bobby Moore managing to do to Jairzinho what the Watford defence failed to do against Salah
    [IMG]

Gordon Banks making the greatest save ever from Pele's header, Mexico 1970
    [IMG]

    It keeps getting better.........

    Moore can't believe it!

......And the fans behind the goal are already celebrating!

The iconic shot of Pele and Moore embracing. Lots of flipped versions of this on the internet, but the second picture below proves this is the correct orientation.

    Taken from the other side:)

Peter Shilton getting acquainted with Maradona's hands, Mexico 1986.

Still think Shilts should be out-jumping 5ft nothing Diego:eek:

His second wasn't bad though. Why didn't Fenwick foul him outside the box!!!

Barnes on at Goodison in 1988, nonchalantly kicking away a banana thrown from the crowd.

The first ever penalty save in the FA cup final, courtesy of Dave Beasant.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke than Aldridge.........

David Platt (out of shot) scoring in the last minute of extra time against Belgium, last 16, Italia 90
    [IMG]

Looking almost as happy as I was when it went in:D

David Beckham scoring his first England goal against Colombia, France 98 group stage.

Looks even better from this angle.

Before he became a terrible pundit, he once was a decent striker - Owen scoring the goal that made him famous on the world stage.

The pub in St. Albans I watched it in went absolutely mental:)

But it all went wrong in the second half............

    Simeone trying not to smirk.

Redemption for Beckham in the last minute against Greece, 2001 qualifier.

And revenge is sweat, Japan & Korea 2002. Simeone giving him the look of death!

Dele Alli's current personal coach, back in 94 celebrating a goal.

Don't say nasty things about Zidane's mother, WC final, Germany 2006

The most horrific leg break of all time - David Busst against Man Utd, 1996. There are more graphic pics readily available on the internet, but not for me.....

David May can't look, Schmeichel is walking off, Dublin frantically calling for help.

Crazy but likeable Croat Goran Ivani*evi* entering the crowd after winning Wimbledon as a wildcard, 2001.

Muhammad Ali knocks out Cleveland Williams, 1966. It was the first time he performed the "Ali shuffle".

And his devastating knock out of Sonny Liston during their rematch, 1965.

What F1 lacks today - four iconic drivers like these: (left to right) Senna, Prost, Mansell, Piquet - Estoril, 1986.

Ayrton Senna on the grid at Imola, 1994 - minutes away from the tragedy that cost him his life.

Can you imagine that happening today??!!

Was it against Sweden? I think it was a clash with Steve Hodge, not an opposition player but I'll have to double check that in case I've remembered it wrong.

Great picture though - think of the state of Prodl's man bun if it ever happened to him!

My choice would be this iconic image of Paula radcliffe dropping a monstrous bum cigar on the streets of London, then running off without even having the good manners to wipe her turd cutter.

It's weird how most people think she just had a piss when she actually curled out a whopper.

Still, she only bothered trying in races when she got paid so in effect, she was getting paid to **** in the street.

Wimbledon final, 5th July 1980 - Borg v McEnroe - the greatest tennis match ever played, according to many.

    Borg's winning moment.

But McEnroe got revenge the following year - and Borg never played at Wimbledon again.

Dennis Taylor celebrates winning the greatest snooker final of all time on the black in the final frame (18-17) - the 1985 world Championship final against Steve Davis.

Paul Alcock - who recently passed away after a battle with cancer - in mid tumble due to a shove by Paolo Di Canio after sending him off, 26 September 1998.

Jonny Wilkinson kicking the last minute winning drop goal with his weaker right foot in extra time, Rugby World Cup Final against Australia, 22 November 2003.

And there's nothing the Aussie's can do to stop it.
