Not missed it one little bit. I'm surprised by that, but it's nice to do other things.

I think it's because we were so sh1t this season, that's it's actually a relief we're not playing anymore.

I can only hope that they will cancel the season completely, so it can be flushed away from memory.

Noone can never flush away the perennial Pub Quiz question of future decades:

‘In the abandoned virus 2019-20 season Liverpool only dropped 4 points in 29 games.
    Which team beat them?’

I miss all sport really. Even if I don't watch them the gentle hum of the Masters going on over the airwaves on a Thursday/Friday. The world snooker chuntering away. Just seems to break up the week and act as a marker. I just feel at moment as if every day blends into the next.

Things that have happened this year and last - both personally and to the wider-world have taught me to just enjoy football and not get so caught up in it. Much like HB1 above, I’ve not really missed it at all. That’s not to say I would want a world to continue without it - but I think football has got so caught up in itself over the last 10-20 years that it will be good in the long-haul that this ‘pause’ happened to allow a certain reflection on the game and just how ‘unbalanced’ the whole game is. It’s been like a whirlwind that never stopped and got more expensive and churned people and clubs up along the way. I hope they can row back from that.

And much like @Jumbolina says, I used to annually look forward to The Masters golf over Easter. I’m actually going to miss that more than I’ve missed football so far!

This is the longest we've been unbeaten this season, every silver lining.

At least there's no VAR to dominate conversation. Hopefully when football returns it won't take itself so seriously but that's not likely.

    What’s “football”?
Is that the one where they carry the ball or the one with bats (Ben Stokes away on a rainy Tuesday?).

I've missed being able to watch Football in general, but not really missed watching us. Not particularly hard to find something else to do anyway.

Missed sport in general, not specifically football. I don't miss the sickening feeling I've had most of this season.

What I do miss is the social connections caused by sport and 'the moments' it creates and which we all remember

Think I can relate to Burnsy. Also hoped a period of reflection would help the sport but as said elsewhere it's still showing its toxic side at the moment

Whilst I really miss watching Watford, I probably miss watching my kids play most - my daughter on Saturday morning and my son on Sundays. I even miss helping out coaching the little sods from his team on Friday nights.

I agree with HB1. I haven't missed it at all, nice not to have the relentless hype and overreaction that accompanies every game.
I hope I don't have to go a whole summer without seeing Broad and Anderson bowl though...

You’re missing watching golf more than football!?

If this isn’t a joke, then your sanity surely has to be questioned.

Not all golf, just The Masters! I used to watch it every year growing up with my dad on TV - its just one of those quirks you grow up with and miss when they are not there!

Not really missed it. Sport is an enjoyable distraction in life. But as you get older and I suppose certainly in my case a little more wiser and with a greater perspective on life you don't get so worked up and invested as you did when you were younger. Loving those close to you, your friends and enjoying each moment is what counts.

Besides this enforced break means some of those unread books, unwatched films and unlistened to music can be read , watched and listened to.

I'm missing the cycling too. The classics The Giro The Tour in July. Being Welsh, Geraint Thomas is probs our most famous sportsperson, behind Ian Woosnam and Iwan Roberts.

I miss the routine of a Saturday at the football, and even the actual football side of things to an extent. Goes without saying that I miss the toxicity of the constant coverage of the game, and this crisis is really bringing out the worst in a lot of people involved in the game.

Am really missing a lot of other sports, was looking forward to the England cricket team's 2020 season, and there's no darts too, although at least there they can organise casual games from home lol

Fair enough. Watching golf is just one of those sports I’ll never get. The same with snooker. And long distance cycling.

I miss all sorts of sport and certainly the golf. Not a cycling fan to be honest but I really miss the social side of football. Meeting up at West Herts Cricket Club for a couple of beers with the same guys I’ve been going to football with for 25 years.
I’m definitely looking forward to football returning but only at the right time and not rushed just for the sake of completing a season

I honestly am more gutted that the World Snooker Championships has been cancelled this month than I am to be missing any football. I’ve changed.

Snooker and Darts are 2 I can do without but I understand people like them so fairs fair!

If we can see this virus off and keep our feet on its neck in the future, the summer of 2021 could be one to get excited for. Lions Tour, Euros, Olympics...

I should say I’m also very gutted the speedway season is on hold too. The last thing British speedway clubs need with the sport in its usual hole.

    I miss the football.

It would be something to talk about rather than Covid 19 all day.

As Morrissey said, every day is like Sunday. But at the moment its worse, every day is like Sunday in that gap where the football season is over and the other sport (olympics, euro 2020, cricket etc) hasn't kicked into gear yet.

I miss football but not the Premier League, this episode has been the straw that broke the camels back for me. For a while I've found it depressing how much money and hype there is, we've all become de-sensitised to it, players on £350k a week and we don't bat an eyelid! Three hundred and fifty thousand pounds per week. A few weeks in and some of the "bigger" clubs claim they're skint and go begging to the government for money to pay their minimum wage staff. To cap it all Tottenham (who are one of those clubs) are reported today to be lining up an £80 million transfer target.

I'm sorry but it's out of control and I hate it, hopefully the whole thing will just collapse and go back to some form of normality. I've cancelled Sky and BT Sports and will never give another penny to the Premier League or a club in it, unfortunately that means Watford whilst they're still in it. I've been going home and away since 1972 and am Watford to the core but I really can't bring myself to support the PL circus anymore.

As I live in Lincolnshire I occasionally go and see Boston United, these players are paid beer money by comparison. They may not have the quality of top flight players but they give everything on a Saturday, every player gets 10 out of 10 for effort. These little non league clubs are run on tiny budgets but don't go pleading poverty after a few weeks of no games and then spend more than the entire membership of this forum will ever see on one player.

Sorry, and I'm expecting to get a lot of abuse for saying it, but my first game back will be at a tiny little ground 120 miles north of the Vic.

Me too. The Giro is my favourite and also the spring classics. Feel a bit sorry for Pedersen who can't ride in the world champions jersey for most of the year.
