Poor old Janmaat: He's a wing back, with a fair amount of skill and lots of experience. But he's slow and that for a wing-back is bad news.

You used my catchphrase. On top of me starting to agree with you more, I feel this is a momentous day for our fledgling friendship.

Yet another back four combination to add to this season's growing list.

Interesting back line. Would really have preferred Kiko played left back

That is good. I think I'll try to get that into my posts every now and again.

    Interesting line up...

He's broken up the Femenia-Janmaat partnership which was one of the best things about the last few weeks. Mariappa should give us more solidity at the back but will offer nothing going forward. No midfielders at all on the bench, two centre backs and four forwards. There is no way in the world that Sinclair should get on ahead of Richarlison, Okaka or Gray so surely we would've been better served having Ndong on the bench? What happens if Doucoure or Capoue get injured in the first ten minutes?

    Mapps at right back. LOL.

    Hmmm, a very esoteric line-up

I'd like to think Javi has a plan for Janmaat. Maybe he thinks there's something to be gained having him cutting inside against their right back?

I think the biggest part of the plan is him not being Zeegelaar.

  14. Well at least the Saints now down 2-3 against Chelsea is some small comfort.

That Giroud really is a Hazard for defences, isn't he?

Any line-up which involves Holebas being completely dropped from the squad is an encouraging one.

Agreed. Apparently he has a 'knock'.

Lol we could be bottom of League 2 and i still rather watch us and have a few beers than go shopping.

Is it a 'knock to the head' or was that something that happened earlier or recurrently?

He must be injured, Javi makes some odd decisions but I doubt he'd willingly go into a match without midfield cover on the bench.

Pereyra can play there though should we get an injury

He could just change the formation and have Hughes deeper!

Both awful centrebacks from last week plus Deeney retain their places in the XI. Poor from Gracia.

What's the alternative though? All of our centre halves are rubbish. Kabasele is the biggest liability of the lot

I prefer Kabasele by far. And I’d prefer he at least showed poor performances are not tolerated by giving Britos a game. As for Deeney............

    YESSSSSS!!!! A Watford striker scores!

....Folivi has put Boredom Wood 1-0 up.

  32. wingco

He's physically our strongest centre half, but he's not a natural in that position. Positionally the worst of the lot in my opinion, and that's saying something

  33. Burnsy

I think we can safely say that Zeegelaar will never, ever pull on a Watford shirt again when you see Mariappa getting a game at LB ahead of him.

  34. Palace 3-1 up against Brighton.

Meanwhile, we are yet to have a shot at goal - on or off...

  35. wingco

Pereyra inexplicably worse than Holebas at corners

Let Hughes take them for god sake!
