How do we get out of this mess?

Contrary to what everyone thinks Mods don't read every thread. If forums rules are being broken then use the report link and we'll get round to it ASAP.
If a person is simply being objectionable in a members opinion that is what the ignore list is for.

There's understandably some peed off people on here at the moment, I would suggest a little slack cutting is in order for a few days.

Let's not spend from now until January bleating that we didn't buy any decent defenders this summer. We all know we should have, but we didn't. There it is. Our only hope is that QSF - or his successor - can drill some kind of order in to those that we have. That said, I am fully prepared to jump on to the 'Its all Geraldi's' fault' bandwagon. He has some explaining to do. And I particularly dislike the way he ambles on to the pitch to congratulate the players (and himself) after a decent performance (see Arsenal) but is nowhere to be seen after a sh1tshow like Saturday's.

OK. But you or other Mods have obviously been monitoring this thread (and another couple of associated ones) over the last 46 hours because you've stepped in and 'tidied things up' and issued general admonishments.

So who has been the one and only instigator of all the mayhem?

Anyway, I guess that, seeing as the recommendation is to 'run to teacher' then, if it continues, that will have to be my new policy. Never having done it in my life before.

The ignore button doesn't work for me especially when a particular tw.t is very active on a thread. Who and what are others replying to? It ends up becoming nonsensical.

 

I think Foster is on the slide & has been since he made Rashford's mind up for him with an over-rash charge out from his line when we were having the better of the game at OT. It seems that either he has lost that half-yard of pace to beat the attacker to the ball, or his decision to come off his line is a crucial split-second slower. The challenge that led to the penalty on Saturday was another example.
Add to that a noticeable increase in getting beaten low down at his near post (BHA, Everton, Arsenal) & I think he definitely needs to be dropped.

Clearly homophobic remarks are now tolerated on this forum, as I've been reading that from one particular poster for the past few days, and nothing has been done about it.

I don't doubt he isn't in form...what I'm questioning is whether what we have available is any better. Our lack of depth in the squad is to blame for that.

 

We have 4 GK’s. If none of the other 3 are even worth looking at when the No.1 is desperately out of form, then quite what are we doing in building the squad?

What worries me is that certain things point to a dodgy squad atmosphere. I’m worried that certain individuals have such a stranglehold on their positions in the starting XI, that the manager(s) and owners have been worried of the reaction should they be dropped.

 

And that is the big question. But we are lumbered until January with what we have. We've often been hammered for major player overhauls but I wonder if stepping away from that has made too many too comfortable. I also wonder if not being able to ship out some of the deadwood in the squad left us unable to add to it. Prodl, Success etc.

 

I agree the ignore button is not very useful if lots of the posts come from one source. Actually I have never bothered to use it as there are hardly any trolls on here and I like to read posts from genuine posters who disagree with me (yeh alright that is 90% )
I have simply adopted the policy of not engaging with him (or on the politics thread with HH) even when they post something that seems innocuous as there is then always the usual troll comeback.

We can only act on what we see and what is reported if there's something else that people think needs action then report it. Those are the forum rules if people don't like it or the way the forum is run then leave.

Mods have full time jobs are unpaid voluteers and can't be expected to investigate an airy fairy complaint like there's been a few dodgy posts on some such thread somewhere.

So as no one else is offended, because the thread has gone off topic and the subject is covered in multiple other threads, topic closed.
