York lose out the most if Kettering go under, they're 12-1 on aggregate. The scummers will still be 11 points off the top anyway.

i fancy them to be getting a day out in the play off finals and going up that way this year mate , sadly

I fear you might be right. I also think they might make the final of the Trophy as well meaning two trips to Wembley this year.

They will still be out of the relegation zone on goal difference and they are playing well enough to stay up. Just depends if they can keep hold of their players, they will either sell to raise money for the club or the players will request transfers in the summer for not getting paid. The will be worth more as a club in the Championship than in League 1, plus if they do drop down they could potentially end up like Luton and keep falling.

Isn't there an additional penalty if you re-enter administration within 5 years? Or have I heard wrong?

Although the real hurdle is surviving this winding-up petition.

They should not be able to increase any costs until all debts have been paid. No new players, or wage increases.

Portsmouth enter administration. Good news. They owe £2million to the taxman and an extra £2million to Gas suppliers threatening to turn the gas at Fratton Park off. They also owe money to West Brom, Bristol city and Wolves, plus 78k to the council.

What a mess, what next for the club?

It's been reported that they will get at least 10 points deducted but could rise to 20. If that happens they are down for certain

If the gas/Electric companies cut Pompey off, How would they fulfill their remaining fixtures?

The ground would not be deemed suitable for the general public because of the lighting and there would be no facilities for the away team, press or match officials etc.

I wish the gas and electric WAS cut off.... i'm sure we all know what would happen to us (our homes) if we didnt pay our leccy bill - whats the difference?.

How long can this overspending go on without someone really standing up to them? i know they've gone into administration, but it'll just be the same old rubbish and empty threats that'll happen and more small business will suffer, whilst they have a host vastly overpaid buffons on their books - boo hoo. PAY UP!

The biggest joke of all is that they have been allowed to sign players willy nilly last summer, and offer wages through the roof. What sort of moronic imbelices work at the FA/football league that could let this happen?

Fit and proper person test? My arse.

A £2m gas bill? Surely that can't be right? When did they last pay the bill, 1958?

I can't believe i actually agree with you on something . I hope the FL throw the book at them and deduct further points.

10 points for going into admin is a p1ss take. Just look how much it has effected Rangers. Either relegate them or a minimum of 25pts. This will ensure most teams will be relegated.

"And, although Pompey are set to be docked 10 points for going into administation, they could lose further points at the discretion of the Football League as a result of it happening for the second time in such a short period of time."

    Extract from the BBC website.

The problem is that they went into Administration in the Prem and now in the Championship so they are different organisations so I don't think it will count - though it should.

Not playing by the rules can easily gain 10 points. Imho entering administratio should mean an autokmtic relegation.
