I am (53) and i was.. on that tour.

Would your mate be Rob? or Colin? Possibly Nigel? or Kevin? Not big Dave i guess cause he was quite a bit older.. and it cant be Whiffen right? though i suspect you know him.

 

I do! He used to live in Little Chalfont although I've not seen him for a few years now. It was Colin. I've been going to football with him for about 25 years now

 

Superb! Was some great lads on that tour and and it was a right laugh. I could write a book about it.. probably should.
Say hello to Colin when you see he next and you'll have to ask him if he remembers Nora. That was a place in Sweden not one of the local lasses!

Colin sends his best wishes to you and your brother (Cliff?). I do actually know the others in the photo but just didn't recognise them. Rob, lives down towards Plymouth these days and still comes to the odd game, Dave, last time I heard was running a Bed and Breakfast up north somewhere and again still gets to some games. Steve Whiffen hasn't been seen for a while now. Apparently that is Colin's flag you're all standing behind. He did say that there was a photo taken with all the Watford supporters out there, around 40, so don't know if you've got that one

 

I haven't no. Unless he meant the one below which appeared in a matchday programme? Me and me brother (yeah Cliff) arrived late at this game so didnt make the photo. I have got some scans of the reports in the WO about the tour that names us all and tells of the stuff we got up to. Think i might start a seperate thread in the history section about the tour.. saves clogging this thread up any further.

How long have you banned her for? Anything short of a year is too good for her.

 

Your object - does it actually play records? It doesn't look like it does. It looks like just one component of a hi-fi system which turns records so it is a turntable. (even though it does not actually turn tables) . I also used to call it a deck - singular. Record deck , amplifier, speakers and away you go.

 

No mate that's a record player. These are turntables* (I'm boycotting them though as the traitors have moved out of the 'Wood).

*I was told by two owners of these (their entry level models) that quality control for the drive units was to roll them down the rickety wooden stairs from the first floor manager's office to the shop floor...
