A true hero from the Munich tragedy.
I have a morbid fascination with the tragedy and recommend David Meek's book.
I recall seeing Harry interviewed and describing the events and his part in them.
    Very humbling indeed.
I doubt many of the tourists on Sunday will have heard of him.
    RIP.

An absolute legend of a man both on and off the pitch.

A great goalkeeper and Northern Ireland sporting legend with a lovely Northern Irish burr and very down to earth nature. The grief of the 1958 disaster was still as clear to see in his eyes as he recounted his actions then during a BBC documentary which I hope will be aired again where he met the Serbian family who he saved in the crash a little baby girl now a middle aged woman. The humility he displayed throughout his life his work with charitable organizations should be something young footballers should aspire to. I hope Manchester United and their fans give him a proper tribute given that Bill Foulkes was rather pitiful despite him being a club legend for them.

Voted the best keeper at the 1958 World Cup. Northern Ireland drew with West Germany after having beaten Italy in qualification and then knocked out Czechoslovakia in a group play off. They had to play two days later and tiredness caught up with the losing 4-0 to France but Gregg pulled off magnificent saves throughout while Peter McParland of Aston Villa knocked them in at the other end.

Yes that was the documentary I saw I think.
Such bravery and as you say the humility and guilt that the survivors experienced is evident.
