Apparently the favourite this year - "Tiger Roll" - is the shortest odds Mr HH has seen for a National and looked very impressive at Cheltenham. However, it's very rare for a horse to win the National two years on the trot (see what I did there?) and, for those wanting a flutter, the odds will probably be too short to be worth it.
I have backed 5 at odds of 20-1 up to 50-1. So any of them 5 winning will do. And it ain't Tiger Roll.
I got lucky. Bookie gave free bets offer in the race today and i chucked it on Dounikos and.....Tiger Roll. Backed Rathvinden and Walk In The Mill too so quids in.
So sad that Up For Review died at the first fence. I saw the horse on its back with legs flailing and thought it was in real trouble, fighting for his life. I hoped to read it was ok, but it didn't make it.
200 horses died on British race tracks last year. Time for this barbaric 'sport' to be put on a par with fox hunting and made illegal.
Good. Utter wan*ers. The fences at Aintree for the Grand National are now so safe that even I could jump them without injury. Deaths among race horses are gradually coming down.
Not quickly enough I'm afraid. Too little, too late. Ban them. The other 200 horses who died last year didn't run at Aintree. Horse racing: a 'sport' that kills horses, encourages slave labour among stable hands and only serves to make rich people richer and bookies profit from gambling. Oh and it's as boring as F1 to watch as well!
