If you want Gracia out after 2 games you obviously have that right to voice it, but I would say that judgement is flawed. It is possible he has developed this core group as far as he can take them, but it is too early to make that call right now. If the Pozzos really thought that he's lost the ability he would already be gone. He will probably get 3 more games & no doubt they have managerial candidates lined up if need be. To put this in some context Palace lost 7 games straight at the start of the 2017/18 season & finished 11th.
You are correct. I have no doubt he will be fired after 7 games by Pozzo. I also have no doubt that a brave person would fire Gracia tonight.
Can only hope they count the disgraceful end of last season, even if the fan base doesn't. Then it's after West Ham.
Its not 2 games. From the last 11 competitive league games. 2 wins, against total basket cases Fulham and Huddersfield. 1 draw. 8 losses. 22 goals conceded. 7/11 x 38 = 24 points = relegation form. The same 11 players get selected regardless of performances. No more stupid an example than with the goalkeepers. Bachmann and Pontus left at home whilst Gomes sits on the bench. WTF? Is Bachmann really not trusted even as back up? Our offense consists of hoofing to Deeney and hoping to make something happen off a second ball. I can see teams doing that down the local park on Sunday morning. In this formation our wide midfielders move inside and width is provided by the full backs. Its very easily countered by the opposition overloading the midfield and breaking wide in the channels behind our stranded full backs. Everton did it behind Holebas on their very first attack on 3 minutes. We are easy for opposition managers to set up against and Gracia has done nothing to evolve the plan.
Haha yes my fault, I nearly forgot all the ex football managers on here, out in force with their know how.

Now teams have seen it for 6 months they have found away around it. Liverpool executed this to a tee and completely isolated Masina ripping him apart. Since then everyone has done exactly the same thing. Capoue and Doucoure are getting over run in midfield, as teams push 3 into the middle, which also negates Hughes and Pereyra coming inside. Time for a bit of negativity and sacrifice one of the forwards for a central midfielder, push two players wide to give us some width and help protect the full backs. It might not be pretty but we need to get some confidence and points on the board.
But that’s why I take exception to these sorts of analyses. You’ve chosen a completely arbitrary cut off point. It’s not 11 games because that’s when we changed head coach, or a transfer window shut, or some other defining event happened. Instead it’s just because that’s when we last beat a team that would undermine the point you’re making. When you look at that selection of results though I’d say only 2 out of your 11 standout as genuinely poor. West Ham and Brighton. We’d have hoped for better against Arsenal and Southampton at home but there are plausible reasons why both ended up trickier than they could have. The aways all arguably went how most people would expect and, frankly, away form is rarely the lynchpin of any season for clubs outside the top 8. Teams can get by with a meagre away points haul and still be well clear of relegation.
Don't bait the football managers on here. This is the only way some are able to vent their sexual frustrations. Especially the ones with over 15,000 post count.
It hurts being wrong. It hurts even more to be found to be wrong by said 'football managers'. You'll feel better after a good night's sleep.
It's all Pizza's & Figs Mr football manger, what does that mean by the way & why do you need to tell us that in your profile picture?
A manager builds a team and develops a system, opposition managers work it out, and the cycle repeats. We are currently in the bit where opposition managers have worked us out. The bit picks itself.
We would have changed up Gracia by then if that same losing streak happens to us, so what's the point you are making? I was just saying you can still get Zero points from a possible 21 & still finish the season in 11th.
You started banging on about this 15000 post thing when you first signed up, since then your posts have been quite normal. What has prompted this relapse?
But what if Gracia's replacement also fails to win for two games? Premiershit league football eh? It's getting less and less likeable as time goes on.
Just throwing this out there. It’s just a start but I think this could be a goer! Gino sacks Javi and doesn’t recruit a new head coach, he won’t need one. Instead team selection/formation and tactics are made using weekly forum polls. The poll for the next game would open at kick off of the current game. Polls would close at 11:59 on the Wednesday night. This will allow players to practice the new formation on the Friday (we all know that nothing ever happens on a Thursday) Traffic to this site will increase as Watford fans who have never heard of WFCForums flock to sign up. Obviously we can’t have opposition fans voting or people making up aliases, so votes will be weighted in favour of long established members. To reflect their management experience, weighting will also be given also to posters who live play football simulation games I.e. football manager and Fifa. The shout box will be used to gauge player performance during matches. This will not change.
If we lose against West Ham next week, Gracia could be out by the following Monday. Relegation was on the forecast if we continued to show the form we had at the end of last season. Fail to beat WHU, the taxi will be called.
I mostly agree. rattling off stats doesn't really tell us the story, even if it is results that count in the end. I don't think we have been that far off getting extra points over those games and I don't think our problems are that big that a few tweaks and a bit of luck couldn't have turned around some of those games. Apart from Richarlisons miss yesterday, Everton created little against us, so a deflected shot won the three points. Even against Brighton, we had absolutely no luck in their penalty area, and Brighton scored all their chances after our heads went down. Small bits of extra luck could have given us 4 or even 6 points, in my opinion. Yesterday was much better all round, and I think that if Sarr gets fit, and we can play him and Welbeck in the same lineup, without Deeney (if Gracia can make a decision), I think we will do much better results wise.
I see a certain symmetry between our clubs position in the league and theirs. http://www.thenationalleague.org.uk/match-info/tables?division_id=51774
There is a lot he can do about the final ball. He can pick players who are better at delivering a final ball. He can coach them to be better at the final ball. If that’s not achievable, he could ask for players in the transfer window who are better at delivering the final ball. Substitute ‘final ball’ for any other part of the game and he has the authority to do those things as well. Absolving him of blame for what happens on the pitch is crazy. It’s literally his job.
Duxbury has said often enough that they believe the natural cycle of a coach/manager is 2 years - as they either go on to better things or the squad get tired of the tactics and want to hear a new voice/ideas etc etc There are certainly signs that the latter of those things is happening as Javi approaches 2 years in his post.
Haha, It's Cassetti's Beard'. I am wrong. Sorry I should have never doubted your football management expertise. Gracia should definitely go after 1 game. What do you play FiFA on Xbox or Playstation?
Sorry HB, maybe I genuinely missed it, how have Wolves improved over the summer? I was under the impression they had a very quiet window and still have a notably small operative squad, mostly having brought in odd Mendes connected teenagers from Portuguese sides/Portugal.
