The representatives left Helsinki and returned to the airport to fly home. Some had a sickly feeling in their stomachs, knowing they’d just killed a good man. Some others had a different feeling in the pit of their stomachs – hunger.

Zagreb flew home and proceeded to retrieve his luggage at the airport. He grabbed his case and headed home. Had he stayed a minute longer, he would have noticed a second case on the belt that signified he wasn’t the only one who travelled from Helsinki to Zagreb.

He got home, grabbed a bottle of Osječko and put his feet up. He began drifting off to sleep but was startled when he heard a knock at the door. Upon answering, he was surprised to see one of his fellow representatives.

‘Did you get a little lost? It is pretty late’ asked Zagreb. ‘Plane issues’ replied the visitor. Zagreb invited his colleague in for a drink,‘I’ve bottles of beer, would you like one?’

‘I’d prefer a glass of red’ responded the visitor. ‘After all, it is just about to hit mignight.’

‘Hmm, I’m not sure if I have any wine but I can have a look if you like?’. The clock chimed. It was midnight.

Slowly, the visitor’s body began to grow, the buttons of his shirt popping as his monstrous frame burst through. ‘It isn’t wine I’m after’ growled the visitor, whose body transformation to wolf was complete. Zagreb had no chance to respond. One slash with the right paw and Zagreb was dead. Zagreb was good.

Simulataneously, London landed back at London City Airport. The streets of London were eerily quiet as everyone’s 26th April celebration hangovers had well and truly kicked in. London travelled down the narrow streets to his apartment building. He opened the main entrance and walked towards the lift.

‘Out of Order’ read the sign. ‘Great, now I have to take this case up the stairs’.

London entered the dimly lit stairwell. He puffed as he dragged his case, the wheels clattering off every step. The stairwell echoed with his noise.

‘I’m only half way there, I need a break’. London stopped climbing and the noise of his case clattering began to subside. He took a seat on the step to recover. Strangely, despite no longer feeling out of breath, he could still hear heavy breathing. London held his breath, yet the sound of breathing was getting louder. ‘Anyone there?’ London sheepishly asked, to no response.

With his hands shaking and his heart beginning to race, London rose to his feet and restarted his ascent. He stopped dead in his tracks when he heard a voice, with a foreign accent. ‘Hello, are you struggling with your case?’ came the voice from the shadows. London jumped back and says ‘What are you doing in the shadows, you scared me!’. In the distance, Big Ben chimed for midnight.

‘I’m sorry – it looked like you needed a hand. I’m afraid now I can only offer a paw!’ exclaimed the voice from the shadows and within seconds London had been pounced upon and slaughtered. London was good.

Elsewhere, Cancun also didn’t fly directly home. He chose to pay a representative a visit. Cancun sat patiently outside the representative’s home. He was biding his time until midnight. 23.58… 23.59…. Midnight arrived. Cancun creeped up the path and opened the representative’s door. The inside of the house was silent and the lights were off.

‘Brilliant, a sleeping victim! This couldn’t be any easier’ Cancun thought as he climbed the stairs and approached the representative’s room. He burst through the door ready to shread the representative to pieces and feast on their flesh… but no-one was in the room. ‘That’s a little strange… I wonder has the flight been delayed?’. Cancun took a seat on the bed but it had been a long day and he fell asleep before anyone arrived home. Some time passes and he jumped out of his sleep but found he had been chained to the bed. He struggled but it was no use. He heard footsteps approaching.

From outside the door, he heard a deep voice. ‘You think you can come in to my house and try to kill me? Me?! How naive of you young one. You’ll never make it as a wolf in this world! Time for seconds’. The door swung open and in rushed a larger wolf. Cancun howled in pain as his fur was broken by the already blood stained teeth of the wolf. Cancun was the Gamma Wolf.

The Guardian had been feeling the cold in Helsinki. They spent the night armed outside Nairobi’s house but returned home after having a stress free night.

    Today's Mayor is Tokyo.

Today's game will end at 6pm.

I have quite a lot of meetings today so will do my best to respond to queries as soon as I can.

London has fallen (awful film btw)

Get in! So that leaves just two wolves - not a terrible start to proceedings.

Why did Guardian stay outside Nairobi's house?

Not a bad start then with one wolf taking out another, unexpected bonus for Team Good.

RIP London and Zagreb. Good riddance, Cancun!

Yesterday I posted early, my trademark you see. I told you Helsinki was good but now he’s only good for reindeer food. The wolf’s silly Shakespeare quote got you all in a dither. Today I viewed Nairobi. Another for team good. Try not to feed the lions this time.

So Helsinki got lynched , well done team good , we got off to a great start eh , only reason were still in this is a bit of wolf on wolf action.
We need to see what Zagreb and London said.

Greetings from Fes. Seems a blood-filled evening was had by some - the thoughts of the Moroccan people are with you.

On another note, getting a flight from Helsinki to Fes is tough.

According to Google, the square and compass is a Freemason sign.

But it’s also the name of a pub found in several geographic locations, which coincide with players actual usernames, so the jury is out on that one.

    Good morning Global Resistance,

So the wolf is quite smart and wants you all to know it.

That’s a fine result all told. 1 of 3 wolves gone before day 2 begins. Not sure if that counts as an achievement under the previous mayor’s administration but I’m claiming the credit.

Bit of a change getting messages nice and early!

Any reason why the Guardian protected Nairobi? If the first message was the Seer you would also wonder why they then chose to view Nairobi?

Two pretty obvious pairs of messages. Four "viewings" so far and all claiming everyone is good. Doesn't give us much to go on.

Rubbish that we lost a couple of good but a wolf taking out a wolf on night one was a great stroke of luck.

Are they inferring the section in French was from a Shakespeare play? If so using my terrible GCSE French it roughly translates to en route to new adventures my friends.

yes I ran that through google translate and googled the english version ,it didnt say anything about shakespeare.

I went through what Cancun said he made 3 posts and said nothing of note !

Though message 1 names me as good, I'm inclined to believe message 2 is from the seer.

If the Guardian was outside my house/hut last night (thanks very much) the wolf might want to name me as someone to put in the frame,

All guess work and assumption still, but I'm just being honest, though it doesn't serve my city's interests if this is correct.

Cancun's posts yesterday reveal nothing useful. Of course, he/she didn't know anything other than their own role, so that's unsurprising.

Their vote was late in the day for Helsinki - I suspect the other wolves might follow a similar pattern. It suits team evil to pile on and ensure a good player gets killed, or at least, use their vote to make sure that someone who isn't them is certain for the chop, so they can be sure of surviving another day.

@The Globe are the votes in your post in order of when they voted? I took Cancun's timing by his post saying he voted about 7.38pm which presumably was late enough to seal Helsinki's fate.

Alphabetical order - I can't revert the poll so unable to say for sure what order the votes were cast.

  33. Oslo

yeah i know , only reason i looked for it was a few games ago i was a back up seer and tried to drop a similar subtle hint , no one got then either.

Equally we had Istanbul voting super early yesterday and on their own for ages. I know someone has to go first and it doesn’t serve a wolf to stand out. But maybe it was early enough in the game it could go unnoticed and give something to refer back to in a later round as a ‘why would I do that if I was a wolf’ thing?

    Morning world,

Well that’s a bit of a result for Day 1. Things were all looking a bit bleak there after two thirds of the write up, but a nice stroke of luck with the gamma wolf picking another brings things back towards us a little bit.

Once again a bit of an odd sequence of messages in that everybody so far has been declared ‘good’.

Nice to get some early messages, but making things difficult!
