Looks like Muff will struggle to field an 11.

Presumably gambling on a rush goalie strategy.

Rush was a striker mate, dangerous to rely on him as a goalie.

They seem to not actually get too many in but spend big on a couple of players - then the press still talk about Howe working on a small budget.

I always remember reading comments from Huddersfield fans when we played them in the Championship days about how they'd hate to have a team of mostly overseas players and one said he'd never go if they had a team full of them.

Guess that attitude might have changed now!

I completely forgot the window closes on August 9th. Not entirely sure why clubs felt this was logical in a World Cup year

It possibly makes more logic in a World Cup year, as it stops the hype continuing to build off the back of performances at the tournament which in turn encourages selling teams to hold on to the last minute to sell.

True, but then it also puts teams under huge pressure to make signings. Agents must absolutely love it

The whole thing was utterly ridiculous in the first place, considering that we are the only league that have put it in place. In trying to make things easier for sides, we've allowed European sides a free run on the league without being able to bring replacements in

Both Success and Richarlison could be utilised as proper strikers. They both need to improve their shooting. They would not be able to hold the ball up in the lump it to Deeney style, but with the right service they have the right (or rather raw) attributes. Playmaker in behind.

If it's pressure, it's pressure the teams have invited and seem happy with. After all they voted for this. The European market may well be suppressed after 9th August anyway, as a lot of transfers seem to work like a domino effect and there will be no Premier League money playing a part in that. I know their clubs will have already banked £££ but they will also know there's no more coming until January.

They could but it would be very much an experiment, esp for Success who has hardly scored in his career to date playing primarily out wide (8 senior goals since 2014 per wiki).

Success ca work as a striker if he gets his pace back, but as I've stated on here a bunch of times already, despite people's wishes to the contrary, Richie will never be one.

Back to the main thrust of the thread, looks like there's still a lot of business needing to be done in the league this window, considering the average number of signings per club last summer was 7 and thus far it appears no club has signed more than 4 or 5.

It looks like Pereyra is on his way out and Everton are interested in Richarlison. And is Ben Foster really the best we can do?

Got to give Foster some vibes, he was good for us in the Championship and Premiership. Has he improved? Well WBA went down but that’s not all on him.

Unless we sign any defenders he’s gonna have world class players like Holebas to see how good he is at Netball keeping.

Soma seems a good midfield signing though. Can we please get a striker and left back next?

Wouldn’t be surprised to see something like this, plus a bunch of our other youngsters that I haven’t named going out on loan.

    GK

    Ben Foster
    Heurelho Gomes - sell
    Pontus Dahlberg
    Daniel Bachmann
    Samuel Howes

    RB

    Kiko Femenia
    Marc Navarro
    Daryl Janmaat - sell
    Brice Djedje - sell
    Dimitri Foulquier
    Andrew Eleftheriou - loan

    CB

    Christian Kabasele
    Craig Cathcart
    Sebastian Prodl - sell
    Ben Wilmot
    Younes Kaboul
    Miguel Britos
    Adrian Mariappa
    Thomas Hoban - sell
    Jorge Segura - loan

    LB

    Adam Masina
    Jose Holebas - sell
    Marvin Zeegelaar - sell
    Pervis Estupinan

    RM/RW

    Noureddine Amrabat
    Gerard Deulofeu
    Dodi Lukebakio - loan

    CDM/CM/CAM

    Nathaniel Chalobah
    Abdoulaye Doucoure
    Tom Cleverley
    Will Hughes
    Etienne Capoue
    Roberto Pereyra
    Sulayman Marreh - loan

    LM/LW

    Richarlison
    Ken Sema
    Issac Success
    Adalberto Penaranda

    ST

    Andre Gray
    Troy Deeney
    Stefano Okaka - sell
    Jerome Sinclair - sell
    Obbi Oulare - loan/sell
    Michael Folivi - loan
    Alexander Jakubiak - loan
    Juan Suarez (Cucho) - loan

If rumours are true and Torino want Pereyra and Prodl, providing the price is right, I wouldn’t be surprised to see both go. If reports are true and Gino has told any club wanting Pereyra that the price is north of £20mil, that wouldn’t be bad business. If we sell both Pereyra and Prodl for £28-30mil then I can’t imagine anyone being to mad about that. Plus the possibility of selling Doucoure for £30-40mil would set us up very nicely financially. £60mil to bring in a Striker and CB, followed by a cheap Doucoure replacement if needed.

    Edit: Too much FM/Fifa etc

As always it will only be good business if the first 11 and full squad we have at the start of the season is better than the one we finished 2017/18 with. I'm sure we can raise lots of ££s by selling our better players but can we actually bring in real quality to replace them or will we lose out on targets to our peers ??

I know some mention on here about our slapdash attitude to transfers and focus on the duds more than the successes but I wonder how many of these signings at each club would be classed as a success?
