It’s hard to even remember seeing as we pissed the league the following season, pulled off one of the greatest escapes ever the following year, won the Prem the year after that and the made the quarter final of the Champions League the year after that.

Seriously though, it was a sickening feeling. Must have been horrible to be there. I very much went into shut down mode after that, it was a relief that it was the last kick off our season and I could just forget about football for a bit.

We cut Geri's loan spell in Jan (probably have a break clause) and proceed to piss the league as so many had hoped.

If I was Geri I would enjoy spending a few months playing vastly inferior teams and wracking up goals and assists. Anyone who's ever played football knows playing against **** opposition is far more fun. You can relax and bang in goals. Geri would destroy the Champo, look how he dealt with Huddersfield and Cardiff when they were temporary Premier League teams, but Championship sides in all but name.

He likes quite a few of the clubs posts on Instagram, so still has an investment here.

Cant see him coming back (not sure it would work financially and he seems to want to settle in Italy/Spain and he just had a baby I think) but do feel he is exactly what we need. Last season in the EPL he averaged 1.6 key passes/90. So far in the Championship none of our players have more than 1.1 (Joao Pedro). Would solve our creativity issue.

 

Poor Geri. Came on as sub tonight, but went off after 10 minutes with a bad looking injury. His knee again. Not good.

 

Oh ****! I would not be surprised if we were thinking of bringing him back now we have "The Kid", but it looks like that is unlikely now

Yes that was it. Many called it at the time. Throwing away 3 points. Gifting 3 points to the relegation rivals who finish above us by virtue of that result. Killing all the good vibes and confidence a great little run had brought us. While we were 1-0 up following other great results, it seemed impossible we'd be relegated.

 

Maybe we can add to the list of players crooked or careers ended by injury whilst at Watford. Since I've been supporting us that feels like a long list!

 

That's not good. You always fear more for a player after the type of injury he had. Hopefully it is unrelated to the original injury.
