Doubt it. As soon as they realise he's not played since an injury, they will pull out of the deal.
#Napoli asked #Watford for #Deulofeu on loan with the right to purchase, contacts are in progress. For the Spanish striker also interest from #Fulham. #Milan is cold about the player.
'Loan with a right to purchase', what exactly does this mean? Sounds like the option to buy wouldn't be compulsory?
If his leg falls off its our problem not theirs?
If GD goes it has to be as a sale at a decent price not a loan, otherwise we should keep him on board for now IMO.
Club in talks with Napoli and could be concluded this week as per Leventhal. There is PL interest as well.
I don't know if Napoli have the money to buy, but I'd be fairly sure someone in the Premier League can find £25m+ round the back of the sofa, even if he's injured until November
Sky reported at lunchtime that Fiorentina were interested in him.
Oh lovely Firenze!
Do the DVs still own Fiorentina?
They have a bit of cash and nice shoes too!
Ah is it someone else turn to be linked..
Can anybody remember any other player we’ve had who was sadly carried off injured (or went off injured) in what turned out to be his final appearance for us? It’s very sad.
Calum Davenport springs to mind.
Genuine question - does Leventhal have a clue about anything? His knowledge of length of players contracts and salary seems to change monthly and he just follows the latest rumours on transfers. I think he's just completely out of the loop.
where has £25M come from? Whoever buys him will be taking a massive gamble given the injury he has. He wont be the same player when he comes back either, I wouldnt be surprised if he just fades into oblivion.
We'll be lucky to get £8M.
I think he has got less reliable, but he is still more reliable than anyone else we have.
I think the club are just a closed shop so very little gets out from there (other than what they feed him), so I think he reads the rumours and then rings around to try confirm they are true.
He's worth £25M all day long
It would be very Pozzo to take cash and players in some 3 way merry go round
You know he has a serious injury right? Guess you’ll be ignoring people who don’t agree with your £25m valuation so this post is pretty pointless!
Zarate too ?
Bobby Svarc, obviously.
Was also the last game of his career, ultimately...
Didn't he go off one game and never played again for us - even at all!
Well done Willis, you just beat me to it!
Wasn't he injured in his first game?
I think he doesn't have any insight in to incomings at the club. He hasn't been first to break any news on any of our incomings (I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he picks up some stuff from here).
In terms of current players and their contacts though he might have a better idea than your average fan.
I read someone say on Twitter that they think the club began shutting him out after his articles towards the end of last season detailing the role of Giraldi, etc. Who knows if there is any truth behind that.
Well he probably had more "sources" working for Sky.
Now he is just another journalist trying to pick up rumours and potential gossip and writing an article about it.
There hasn't been one of his meet the ex players nights for a while either.
No, Damien Francis played a fair few games for us, I remember him being a relatively 'marquee' signing considering the waters we were swimming in then. Unfortunately my biggest memory of him was that filthy own goal in the crazy Fulham game, he got injured the day we got relegated and never fully recovered
Poor guy, if I remember correctly, he was a bit of a sicknote, but I seem to recall it was a bit of a coup to get him? Was his debut that he broke his neck, wasn't it? Ended up getting stabbed not too long afterwards too...
Yes - sorry meant did he get injured in his last game for us?- v Man City I think (we drew 1-1...)
Seemed to come with a good reptuation and scored some goals but maybe didn't suit Boothroyd's style.
First and last. Just the 37 minutes.
