Jerome Sinclair is still on our books so nothing to worry about.
I considered holding a lockdown-breaking party to celebrate but that would make me no better than him.
Or it could be that Welbeck is genuinely injured again lol
Deeney isn't quite back in training yet
Like every other pre-season then?
yes expect Murray will play
Altogether now...So who do you think you are kidding Mr Warnock, if you think old Deeney’s done?
Would prefer Newcastle's newly-signed dad's army of Wilson and Fraser
The opening title sequence of the arrow moving across Europe could double up as Ivics tactics board
Italian media saying he's close to a loan to Napoli, no obligation to buy.
Really really good deal for us, hopefully means we can sell Sarr to try and desperately get some money in.
Maybe they're paying a decent loan fee for him, and we're holding out hope of bringing him back next season if we go up?!
This is clutching at straws btw.
Sounds like they will pay the wages but no fee.
Laughable stuff. So we've gone from having savvy owners with an exceptional scouting network to having clueless owners with a terrible one.
Based on what?!
It literally does not say whether there will or won't be a fee!
Simply the fact it's not mentioned, and the very close relationship between the Pozzo's and Napoli owners - i'd be very surprised.
Is this the trouble - people think everything on Twitter must be true?
If he does go on loan and they don't want him them we'll sell him next season elsewhere I guess if we don't get promoted.
If we desperately need money. Loaning our best player, without demanding a fee, is sheer lunacy. Yes it's probably bs, but finding it difficult to have faith in Gino's decision making these days.
It's not mentioned either way, so you can't say it.
A "close relationship" which involves the Pozzos happily bending themselves over a barrel for the Napoli owners?
Wouldn't be surprised. Gino's isn't stupid, we're just desperate.
Udinese are practically Napoli's feeder-club tbf.
Could be a smart move - Season in Serie A could boost his valuation and IF we go straight back up we still have him for the Prem campaign.
So we’re going down the route now of thinking things will happen because they’re not mentioned!!
This is getting sillier by the minute
So it's hardly as if we owe them one then?
Loan fees are not all that common, and certainly not when 100% of wages are being paid. If paid, it is likely to be a minimal fee for the reasons mentioned above, and our desire to clear the wages from the wage bill. I don't think any loan fee from this deal will be clearing our relegation deficit.
Yeah I'm thinking Sarr will get loaned to Barnsley because it's not been said in any reports yet.
Article doesn't say that we won't be getting Mertens in return so....
Wouldn't have thought so
His passed it m8
We are not going to keep a player with £5m wages, who is injured, on the books if we can offload. If we insist on a fee then it will be low currently
No future fee though, if we don't go up, what we'd get for him will plummet
If he has a decent season the fee will go up, even if somebody else buys. There is no easy answers, you either take a lower fee now, or work in the basis he will get back to his level, which is surely £25m +, but can’t see anyone paying that night now
It's a sticky situation, we've been seriously unlucky with his injury, but if Estupinan is off for a fee as low as that, we can't really afford to let others go without getting something in return. Surely a loan to buy (if he plays X amount of games say) would be more useful to us, because no matter how well he does in Serie A, if we don't go up, he goes for peanuts. Besides, who else are we going to make money on this season? Capoue will probably go for a small fee, Suarez has attracted the interest of a skint Marseille team, Sarr? Let's not even go there!
Napoli have some cash to spend. But he is coming back from injury. Will be a loan fee involved or an option to buy.
On his way to Napoli by all accounts.
Napoli have begun talks to sign Gerard Deulofeu. [Sky Italia]
