Sorry @oxhey67 I should have been clearer - I meant in the footballing standard.

I'd rather take a punt on this guy Puscas than Defrel with whom we are linked again along with CP. Defrel is much older with a longer undistinguished career in Italy. Puscas was highly rated at one time by Mancini and Inter. We might be able to unlock that potential.

Defrel doesn't seem great, but he did do well in Serie A not too long ago and I bet would be an upgrade on Deeney. And yes we have been linked with him again in the last few days (along with a few other clubs): https://www.calciomercato.it/news/3...oma_esclusivo_derby_della_lanterna_per_defrel

Puscas looks an okay prospect, but definitely not someone we should be relying on for goals just yet. If Defrel could be a Deeney replacement, then Puscas is more a third choice, squad rotation Okaka replacement with hopes of improving over a few years.

The only other realistic option I can see from Italy at the moment would be Roberto Inglese, though supposedly West Ham are already in for him. 26, good in the air, and scored 12 goals in 33 games for Chievo last season (while on loan from Lazio, who supposedly are open to cashing in on him).

I think Puscas looks more like one for the future or to add to our large stable of loanees.

As for the other guy you mention, Roberto Inglese, he sounds like he could be worth a punt. Sod West Ham they seem to be being linked with everyone at the moment, and I'm sure we could offer him a better chance of regular football if he came to us.

Agreed - Inglese would go to West Ham as a rotation option, they already have Carroll, Arnautovic, Hernandez and Hugill (though Hugill is a flop for them). He would be a starter here and if interested I'd say we could convince him to come here ahead of them.

Here's a vid of him, looks similar to Fran Sol who we were linked with before, though he's been up against Serie A rather than Eridivisie defenders. For about €15mil he seems a clear solution for us:

Can't help but notice the quality of service into the box was responsible for a lot of those goals. Took them well but our current strikers would also do ok with those crosses.

I like the look of this guy, good with his head takes penalties and looks quite a poacher too!

Could he be our "Fox in the Box"?

We do put in a fair amount of crosses, but our current mob of deadbeats are hardly ever there to convert them, this guy looks like he is far more mobile than our current so called strikers.

Okaka (when not already dead on his feet after 45 minutes) would reach a lot of them, but likely miss the target. Gray isn't very good in the air, but would reach a good number of the balls in the box on the ground, but then would also more often then not miss the target. Deeney would be caught flat-footed considering he has all the movement and leap of a fridge-freezer, so wouldn't even reach most of them.
