It's about bloody time it was made unlawful to publicise the name of the accused until they are formally charged or a judge deems it pertinent to the case or of national interest.

Got a feeling there's a few plod pocketing extras for relaying info to the papers who make more in sales than they have to pay out in compensation to the people who's lives they've ruined.

Yes, it's definitely police corruption. It's not (for example) neighbours or relatives of the accused tipping off the papers. Or journalists being vaguely competent and just doing basic journalism by going to the house where lots of cops are searching and then running simple internet public database searches to find out the names of the occupants. Or - and I accept it's not applicable in this case - the suspect(s) themselves deciding to go on the offensive and go public after arrest to try to influence public opinion as early as possible.

A measure like that wouldn't be necessary if the press and social media companies behaved in a reasonable fashion. The editor of the Mail needs censuring/fining and social media companies need to advise ways of limiting the hateful content on their sites.

There must be an impending government defeat in the Commons or something...

Apparently Heathrow will be buying anti-drone systems. Let's hope they use Amazon or Hermes and not Royal Mail

  8. Yet an 'expert' claimed that "Heathrow had measures in place intended to prevent this kind of incident." - so surely they don't need anti-drone systems?

    Oh - hang on...

Do Amazon anti-drone systems get delivered by Amazon drone?

Called it. The chaos caused at Gatwick has possibly created copycats. Thanks media, there's times when it's not in the public interest.
