Came to the party late. Chucked a few quid on Denmark -1 and Japan -1 (and an accy on both of those) but only at already 1-0 to DM so odds greatly reduced.

3-0 now.

 

Convincing 4-0 victory, roll on the Japan game at 11.30!

Watching a live stream, both teams pretty even at the moment (not helped by Kagawa being on the bench!). Japan have had 2 great chances somehow shot wide.

 

I have an accumulator on - Argentina to win (Tick), Japan, Spain.

I won a previous bet so stuck the winnings of £49 on that for £313.

Ended 2-1 to Bosnia in the end, roughly a £10 loss from all my bets. In hindsight I picked out Denmark win and -1 as the main bets, not sure why I didn't stake on Denmark -1 as a single as well as the win, would've ended up in some sort of profit then at least!

spain letting probably all of us down. left the first half as i didnt see any value and i'm glad i did. At half time i bet on Spain to win. Not looking so good, wondering if they'll even score!

 

I had a little flutter on under 2.5 goals.

 

Some horrible ******* has hacked my PaddyPower account and withdrawn the entirety of my balance (£123). Spoke to PP and they've suspended my account and forwarded it to their security team. It must look overwhelmingly like a hack, withdrawn to a Skrill account whose email address is not linked my PP account, via an IP address who's not my own. Anyone have any experience with this (Otter?)? What's the chances of getting my money back or will they blame it on me? I thought they had procedures in place to make sure this couldn't happen (aka you can only withdraw via the same method you deposited, aka debit card in my case). Annoyed and angry :rant:

 

You will get your money back, just be patient. I'm surprised more bookmakers don't have the additional authentication steps as Betfair do.

If you use the same password at other sites then change them asap.
Make sure your PC doesn't have something nasty installed that's watching your keystrokes.

 

Pre internet days telephone betting was method of choice for punters, there was a system in place at Corals, Skybet and Littlewoods Bet Direct customers could only withdraw to the same card the bets were placed on; if a customer changed their card (long number not expiry date) then the only way they would get their balance back on request would be by cheque through the post. I know this as I was working with them on fraud prevention in circa 2000.

On a similar note, someone hacked in to my EE account last summer and ordered an iPhone and changed the email address on my account however EE immediately flagged it up as fraud but took over 4 weeks to resolve issues on my account, the c**** cut me off twice for "non-payment".

 

I thought they still operated that (tbh I wasn't betting pre-internet!), sure it sounds very familiar to me!

 

You can ring them up and demand to know why their systems allowed for a change of payment method while the account was in credit, there will be an audit trail.

 

Found this on their site, funnily if Japan had won yesterday, i'd have over £200 in my account and i'd be safe right now. Makes yesterdays loss even more annoying!

 

A couple of markets i'll be abusing during the Euros:

Under 3.5 free kicks in the first 10 minutes of the match - 8/11 with Bet365. Did this a lot in the last WC, think the line was under 4.5 then though so i'll be keeping an eye out. Won me a lot of money in the past, especially if you back 2 singles and a double for every 2 matches played.

A corner between 0.00-4.59 - 8/15 with William Hill - Will be doing these 2 at a time in a double, paying 1.35/1. The first 5-10 minutes are generally slow, with teams settling into the game. Makes markets like these ideal.

 

If it's anything like the last world cup then I'm going on both teams to score and over 2.5 goals every game! Defences all over Europe are pretty shocking lately.

Old Euro stats are pretty meaningless now this has a World Cup format. Mexico 86, Italy 90 and USA 94 had identical formats for comparison.

To start with I had an accy of France, Wales, Switzerland, and... Bloody England! 14/1 and our lot blew it making it all the more infuriating. Stuck another on Poland, Croatia and Germany at 4.5ish/1 so a little better.

Individials:
Been going a bit gung-ho on individuals. I backed all of the above on single bets (except England funnily enough), so have done really well. I also backed a couple at -1 on single bets on Croatia, Poland and Germany, so only Germany came in even though all the others probably should have one by more if they took their flipping chances.

I also backed France and wales with wins and btts.

Generally so far as all favourites have come in I've done pretty ok - just faltered at expecting a couple of teams to hand out bigger wins.

Thinking of holding off on an accy on today's 3 as a couple are too close to call but may place some small individual bets, probably in play once I've gauged the run of play. As form is king at the moment, a heinz or yankee could be ideal over the course of the first and second round of matches.

 

I've been staking £40 on each bet I posted in the Euros thread, along with £10 on under 3.5 free kicks in the first 10 minutes of each match, so far up £104.49. Loving it!
