About the 5th player we’ve been linked with today.

Ex Chelsea winger/attacking midfielder on loan and Lens along with Palace and Newcastle. Scored 11 goals and had 5 assists in Ligue 1 this season.

 

Yes it says in the article that he was one of the reasons they were sanctioned with a transfer ban.

 

Ah it’s the time of year we are linked to Gael Kakuta and conclude Gail from Corrie more likely.

 

7 of those goals were penalties, which suddlenly makes it seem nowhere near as impressive.

 

It's going to be a long summer.

 

Good to see that Newcastle and Palace are back being our partners in completely made up rumours. The joys of being in the top flight!

If we are going to take advantage of the fact that the French league's TV deal collapsed thanks to COVID and their clubs are all desperate for money as a result (save for PSG, who are desperate for an adult in the room) I feel like I would rather it not be on spending the very best part of £10m on someone who is turning 30 in a month - especially when this is the first time in his career that he's ever got more than six goals in a season, and even more so in light of LR's point that the majority of those 11 goals were penalties.

 

It's just paper talk. We'll get linked with no end of players until the window shuts. But I agree we're not looking at spending that type of money on a player of his age.
