Should Frank Lampard be dropped from the England team after his recent performances. If so, who should replace him?
Who would you replace him with?? All players have off times and i think this is his, i dont think it will last long and he is by one of the best player in the squad at the moment, it has to be remembered he had a very long arduous season for chelsea and then the world cup finals, he hasnt had a chance to stop and rest, if he was given a short break by chelsea to recharge his batteries i think you would see he is still more than worthy of his place in the squad!
The problem is that he wont get a chance to recharge his batteries - i agree he is an amzing player but every player needs time off. Maybe he shud be dropped for the games against Andorra and Estonia to give him a break
ok... fair comment... therefore, drop him for those two games, move Gerrard in and put lennon on the right, gives lennon the starts he deserves and gives Lamps the rest he needs, leaving Hargreaves for the defensive midfield role. Sounds like a plan.
i think mcclaren will be on top of the situation and he wont make the mistakes that Sven made, He knows how tired Lampard is and i dont think he will leave him in the team just for the sake of it
I think he has done OK recently. I think we are judging him by his consistently high standards previously.
no, keep lampard. In our new formation, with gerrard on the right, it gives lampard more options. Keep him in!
one point that seems to have escaped some is the fitness levels of lamps that were brought up in earlier posts. I dont think anyone means to drop him for good, just give him a break when the next games come around, dont want to burn him out completely.... we have other options and it might be an idea while we have "easier" games to play, this way when te harder games come about he will be a better player for it.
