So after a bit of a chat with 'the club' and after reading this on the website, I was surprised to see that the club wouldn't necessarily be bringing out a DVD of last season's highlights. Having bought the last few DVDs of less-than-sexy-football, I thought last season's would, if anything, be a super-polished, top drawer, ultra-produced collection of Zola & Friends doing their finest, and a shoe-in for most of the 12,000+ ST holders , especially those that we've acquired in the last 12 months. The Hornets Player provides a handy outlet (for subscribers) to watch the highlights the club have released, but the quality isn't great and it's not that convenient. Which of you lot were also thinking they'd prefer (and crucially be willing to pay for) a DVD of last season?
Yes, i would love to have last season's highlights on a DVD. Will be in Watford from Monday for 3 weeks too, get them knocked up !!!
I would like it on DVD and was originally waiting for it to be available via the Hornets Shop. I don't currently have Hornets Player.
They could charge an obscene amount of money and I'd most likely still buy it. Would love to see a DVD produced, the quality of the highlights on my computer is patchy to say the least so it would be nice to have them available in something close to HD.
Club stated that a DVD would cost at least £20 but the demand would have to be there before they committed. I believe they have something on the website about this and that if you would like a DVD then you can let the club know you are interested via email and they will evaluate the demand and make a decision.
Demand would have to be there?!??! Have you seen the back catalogue of dire rubbish that has been produced as half season highlights. I'm sure we had one from our relegation to div 1 season and that was **** football with far fewer fans, why would it be more spensive now. It'll be Christmas soon and we are playing teh sexy fusbal Missing a trick here
http://www.watfordfc.com/news/article/130904-hornets-player-season-201213-review-1036486.aspx "Over recent seasons the club producing a boxed DVD has proved far from financially viable, hence why the online option has been taken initially by the Hornets. Considering the progress Gianfranco Zola’s Hornets made during the course of the last campaign, and the excitement the squad created, the club is open to production of a traditional boxed DVD, although numbers will have to be sufficient to progress. If you are interested in purchasing a 2012/13 DVD please email themediateam@watfordfc.com (subject line '2012/13 DVD') and confirm your interest. The purchase price will be around £20. Should there be sufficient interest the club will contact all interested supporters via email." So if you want one made email in and hopefully they'll be enough demand. Don't know why but it seems to be that the cost of producing a DVD will be quite a lot, I think due to copyright and stuff. Stupid but whatever
