I liked the idea of a forum where members could get advice about health issues.

Also, what about a ''play it forward'' type of forum, where members could offer there services (I, for example could offer car Detailing/Smart repair for free, and in return i need a small wall built, or plumbing, or a sparky etc)

Just an idea.

 

We did have an advertise your services section but it was a bit under used tbh. Happy to make a sticky in GTs section if you think it would be appropriate. Could make it modderated posts only, to keep it to adverts only.

Is it possible to incorporate a casino, for example with roulette like the old forum, where you could spend orns to play.

 

In the pipeline, unfortunately it could be a lengthy process.

 

Could we have an area just for JB and Layton so I and many others don't have to read their constant drivel and keyboard bashing of each other??

When I log on I always use the "New Posts" tab, which I think is currently the best way to view this board; however the only problem is that you have to click on every post, whether you are interested in it or not to clear it from list, or it comes up every time you click on "New Posts" :rant:

Is it not possible to have an "Ignore Thread" tab, similar to the "Ignore" tab we have to avoid posters we would not rather view?

 

Create the thread and I'll sticky it.

Double click on the thread icon and it will mark it as read without you having to open it.

 

I have just tried what you say, but it does not seem to work? Unless I am not doing it correctly, which is very possible as I am a computer numpty as you know I think I am getting it right, but To make sure I am, please confirm what is the thread icon?

 

Forum members who have joined in the last 6 months or so to be on probation and those who have been here for over a year having the opportunity to ban them if they turn out to be an attention-seeking time-waster who just pisses everyone off all the time and won't shut up.

 

It annoys me when I see an interesting post as a reply to a previously posted quote, and I have to trawl through previous pages to find the original post that started all the replies - is it possible to add something on a reply post that can be clicked to take you to the original post?

 

If you look just below the post bottom right there is a tab that says "TOP" I think that will do what you want?

 

Simms, if you look at the post you're referring too, there'll be a line at the bottom that says:

"Originally Posted by SimmonsB "

Click the little image on the quote you're referring too.

Just a thought, whilst browsing my twitter feed. Now that you have what I assume are automated tweets that link to threads on the site, I think adding '#watfordfc' to each of these tweets would increase the amount of people coming to the forum (which is, I assume, something we want). I often do a search for 'watfordfc' or '#watfordfc' when looking for stuff on twitter relating to the club, and i bet a fair few others do too, judging by the amount of tweets with '#watfordfc# within them. If you added this hashtag to each update from the WFCForums twitter account, it might be helpful in gaining more users/readers/general interest.

To be clear, what I'm suggesting is each update looking something like this:

DISCUSS: Sky Sports http://bit.ly/SjPJIE #watfordfc

rather than this:

DISCUSS: Sky Sports http://bit.ly/SjPJIE

(how they currently look).

Apologies if this has been mentioned as I haven't checked all previous post but would like to see a "Hornets Help" section offering anything from forum contributors who have a trade offering discounts to fellow board members through to employees posting any jobs they may be recruiting for or people seeking work experience etc

 

Good suggestion and was tried before, but the traffic really didn't warrant a separate section. TBH most people post in the general banter section for stuff like this.

 

I have been on other forums with a similar set up as this and their PM/mail quotient was pitifully low also.

Just tried msging me and got this reply: PhilippineOrn has exceeded their stored private messages quota and cannot accept further messages until they clear some space.

K obviously it wasn't to me but even if it was chances are I wouldn't even know I have exceeded my stored private message whatever.

20 or 30 messages or whatever it is in total (in and out) is really ...

I expect you to put this wrong to rights so I can use this site as my primary email address with unlimited storage and allowing up to 55mb in attachments per message. Failing that I would like to save more than ten each of sent and received pms.

 

Use the icon to the right of Reply with Quote (with the + sign). Use that for each post you want to quote and then end up with Reply with Quote for the last one.

Well that's what I do. Hope it helps until someone tells you a better way.

 

Whils rhe mobile skin on my phone is great, there is currently no way to vote on polls. Is there any way to rectify this?
