Yick, sorry can't test that here.

    Same problem on others?

would certainly suggest dumping cookies & history and restarting.

You would suggest that for hemorrhoids too.

I'm interested to know if any of the forum suggestions put forward are ever done because I suggested ages ago moog's account be indefinitely suspended yet there he is still posting without a care in the world.

Moog is one of my trolls so he gets immunity.

Just out of interest, what browser do you use HM?

I used to be a devotee of Internet Explorer (have the most recent version 11) and found Chrome's interface ugly and its navigation cumbersome, but since I've switched after hearing about how much more prone even the latest IE versions are to bugs and crashes than most other browsers, it's steadily won me over.

Certainly there are some annoying idiosyncrasies (lack of properties for history and favourites, no immediately viewable history unless you have the tab constantly open, no menu bar, inability to instantly view the titles of pages you've visited going back or forward) but on the whole, I'd say its advantages (ability to view history in chronological order beyond just the present day, much better find function that actually tells you how many occurrences you have if it goes over 100 and the position of each occurrence, bigger default window for YouTube vids, better for blocking ads, ability to always restore session in crashes not matter how short or long time it's been open) outweigh its drawbacks.

My reasons aren't quite so nerdish but I prefer Chrome too if that helps.

Edit, but now there is this Chromium to further muddy the waters.

I uses fire/waterfox for personal browsing and IE for work

When I last checked Chrome it didn't support security certificates, everything was in the wrong place and I found it slow.

    Personal preferences really.

I use Chrome - but I find sometimes when too many tabs are open it takes an age to reload when it should cache.
IE11 is a lot better than previous incarnations of IE.
I used to use Firefox but I've found recent versions too memory hungry to the point that it's probably the worst to use out of the 3 most well-known browsers.

BB Code Twitter Embed? Be really useful and a lot easier if we could just embed Twitter links with a code that'd be great, would look a lot slicker too rather than links.

Going to be a messy summer with the amount of transfer rumours originating on Twitter.

How about having a "Squad" or "Players" section to move the threads into once someone's definitely signed for us? Each player would have their own thread and as and when people have something to say about a particular player they could put it on there. It would stop people adding info onto old threads from the Transfer List, giving the false impression that someone might be about to leave. If that's too much hassle, why not just move each player's thread into the Hornets Nest once they've signed?

To be fair I'd rather keep it to one active player thread each in the transfer section. I've tried to close old threads that have been bumped. We're suggested one thread per player before but the vast majority would never get any posts and adding it doesn't cure the bumping of old threads issue. Anything else would need a lot of mod management I feel.

Is it possible to include a new feature in the Notifications tab that informs you when, in addition to receiving likes/dislikes/PMs someone quotes your post? Many forums that have the "like" feature include this as well.

It would come in quite handy when I haven't got time to catch up on all the latest posts in threads I've read, and just want to see if anyone has responded to points I've hoped have added something to the discussion.

Also, when you are searching for someone's posts in a thread, anyone know why the find function returns matches for user names that appear above their avatar in certain browsers but not others (eg IE)? So for instance, if I'm searching for Hornmeister's posts on a page, and he hasn't been quoted and nobody has mentioned his name, how come I will get matches in Chrome but not IE?

Can I suggest the Politics forum is closed on weekends and matchdays? It gives you a headache skimming through the posts on a Monday morning.

Yes I know I don't have to read them

Or just merge it into one whole thread, as that what normally happens to all the football posts on a Sunday morning. Tends to be more politics than football now.

In the forum view just double click on the politics icon. It'll mark the whole section as read for you and take any posts for there off of your own personal new posts list.

On another forum I go on, you can tag people in a post to get their attention. They get a notification saying someone has mentioned you in a post.

    E.g. @Meister

Can be very useful. Just a thought.

    I like the team bus.

I wouldn't mind setting up a poll each match, and saving the results to track player performance - if possible.

The team bus needs a: (9) Tommy Mooney thread. I'd like to talk about him.
  24. hornmeister

New threads a moderated to try and keep it to one per current or recently left player. Sir Tommy of Mooney whilst a legend, does not have a seat on the bus.

Anyway you make this a permanent option, so you never see posts from a certain forum in the new posts list?

Is there a problem with the Team Bus section in that the threads always stay in their numerical position, rather than being ordered by the most recent comments? If so, people could be chatting away about the lower squad numbers but hardly anyone will see it if they click directly into the sub-forum as they'll always stay on Page 2...

I'm trialing a different default view. If your profile doesn't have a preference set-up for that section it will go in number order. You can re order by "last post by", simply by clicking on it.

Have to say, the new forum is very easy to use. Within a few weeks we'll have long forgotten the old clunky stuff. May I be so bold as to ask what forum software you chaps are using?

Hi mods, great effort getting the forum back on line, thank you and well done. However, and this could well be down to my lack of computer skills, there seem to be some old features that I cannot seem to access.

    1. I used to use the "latest post" tab all the time, but can't find it, has it been discontinued?

    2. How do we now send "Private Messages"? I would have used a PM to have posted this message normally.

    3. There used to be a "Report Post" tab, has that also been discontinued?

    4. I also used to use the "back to top of page" tab, gone or not?

I know that there are some other things I am having trouble with, but this is all I can think of for now. As I said my problems could well be down to my lack of computer skills, and if so can you please help me?

    Thanks VoR

Work in progress young TVOR. lots of features will be different, added, removed. SM#16 has said he'll give us a summary when it's all done.

2 - To send a "Private Message" either click on yours or the recipient's profile then "conversation". You should have all your old ones there still, I do atleast.

3- The "Report" feature is currently bottom left of the message, next to the time it was sent.

I'm not sure if it'll be different depending on which device you use but that's how it is on my phone. Regarding your other two questions I have no idea and both are features I used often.
