How many Watford players have won a World Cup, Euro’s or Champions League? (Obviously not while playing for us but before or after leaving us)
Filippo Galli is the only one i can think of who won the Champions League/European Cup with AC Milan 3 times amongst a load of other trophies. Probably the most decorated player to have played for us?
Not sure if Jermaine Pennant was in the Liverpool Champions League team or the losing one the year later
If you include UEFA and Cup Winners Cup there must be quite a few more...Pat Jennings, Mark Falco, Paul Millar(?) with Spurs? Kevin Richardson with Everton (?). Am so busy at work I haven’t got time to look any of these up
Stupidly I remembered JuanFran had won the Euros with Spain in 2012... ...And then I remembered it was the “other” JuanFran we had who made zero appearances for us 2015-2017
I have just checked and all the above are correct - Paul Millar even scored in the first leg of the final and falco scored a pen in the shootout (1984). Spurs were managed by Keith Burkenshaw too
Ashley Young? Must have won a Champions League under Fergie? Happy to be corrected of course. Just checked and it was the Europa League he won in 2017.
I actually thought Tom Cleverley may have been on the bench in Man Utd’s 2008 Champions League win over Chelsea but no he wasnt, must have been a year before he came through there.
