Did anyone see a programme called 'Footballs Worst Away Days'? (Sky Three, 14th July, about 2100ish) It was a good programme, very funny parts at sh1t holes such as Crewe and Rotherham! Eddie Brimson was also one of the 'guest speakers' as such, if you can catch it again I'd recommend it... But on the subject of worst away days, what was yours? In terms of travelling I'd Plymouth (Leicester-Plymouth via Watford, not fun!) And for a tip of a stadium/town it has to be Oxford United's old ground for stadium and Luton for the town :sick1:
haha , i saw one of the episodes when watford v leicster was on,and some old wolves fan about 90 years old going: "you got to hit em,hit em" lol. He said "attack attack attack attack attack" some man behind him sed "id wish you had a attack"
Went to see us play away at Brighton sometime in the 80's. The Goldstone ground was crap, with a crap view, the rain hammered down all afternoon (no cover) and we lost one nil. Not the best away day ever.
i think that programme is hilarious when that skatty leeds fan is giving it large and then gets hefty abused by the other fans. :]]
Got to have been Oxford Utd back in the bad old days, as I recall it was over Easter, we were already relegated had around 18 points, crap game, got stabbed and all turned very nasty and ended up coming back on the back seat of the team coach with orders to keep our heads down till we got out of Oxford.......Oh happy days!!!!!
Have to agree with Rotherham for the ground although the locals were friendly enough. Portsmouth for an all round poor experience has to be up there!
I've never been to the Triangle! I have been known to pop down to the newly named "A-Line arena" though and watch The Poppies. Most of Kettering's squad of the last few years seems to have ended up with the Steelmen for this season though.
i remember that game against brighton - poured down all day, absolutly dire game and we lost 1 - 0. I remember at half time a group with their kids had had enough and tried to leave only to be told they couldnt and had to stay to the end where when we were to be kept in. the ground wasnt much better than their current home
terrible day, never been so ****ing cold - i think it was worse cos it was a only a year after that cracking day at fulham when we won the championship
I quite enjoyed that in a masochistic sort of way. If I remember correctly I had received Chicken Run for the gameboy that morning, and my brother came out with some good lines during the game.
Was about 3 seasons after, your losing it Bails! I walked past 2 Brass Monkey's that day crying their eyes out, and only weeks before it was billed as the big title match after our brilliant start, only for it to go all Pete Tong in November!
