Wonderful how a (admittedly usually very good) website that charges money to read its content has to backtrack on a story it originally seemed quite certain of. Getting the name of this key new appointment right would seem a fairly important requirement.

 

I'd imagine you are pissed off enough at the current one.

 

It's just how football is these days, it's not a particularly glamorous role, but your days of old-fashioned managers sorting out transfers themselves are over. Plus, you know, anything that means the influence of Giraldi is lessened has to be a good thing

 

Does the sacking of Lucarelli in around 4 hours since his appointment beat Gino's all time record?

Be fair.....he got the first name right. I'm pleased it's Cristiano Giaretta and not Cristiano Lucarelli. Would have preferred Cristiano Ronaldo, but we mustn't forget we're in the Championship now.

 

I’d have liked Christiano Battocchio.

You’re old fashioned.

 

Essentially, their role is to decide/ implement the style of football/ personality/ face on the pitch that Watford will play next season.

A key part of their role will be to ensure our signings aren’t just random additions with high potential, but also that they fit the mould of our clubs target culture.

So if we want to play brave, high energy pressing football, they will ensure we bring in younger, hard working players with higher levels of stamina, and lower risk of injury.

Estupinan, Suarez, Ngakia, Wilmot, Quina... you can’t blame him for all the bad stuff unless you also praise him for the good. An awful Director of Football but his recruitment isn’t shabby this summer.

 

This season will see so many mistakes repeated. I guarantee it.

Simple concept. If he's responsible for all recruitment over the last 5 years, then he's responsible for when it's gone wrong and for when its gone right.

 

None of those players are new to WFC except Ngakia.

 

But you said his recruitment hasn't been shabby this summer, what's that based on? Ngakia and Murray?
