I think we need to get Wednesday in the cup next season. Fernando is a little **** all game, dives to win a last minute penalty, scores it and celebrates in front of the Rookery. That should help some of you weirdos to get over him.

To be honest, that would probably spark another 25 pages about how much of a **** he is.

Sheffield Wednesday need to sell him to some Spanish or Italian side. That aught to do it.

He's like a darker haired version of Stuart Slater crossed with Antony McNamee.

I think he could have done a job for us this season if we d kept him.

Can't have been any worse than Jurado.

Fernando must love it at Wednesday though. He's got the same hero status there but he plays every week and now he's got his mates there with him. I don't believe that he couldn't do some damage in the prem.

    Anyone watching that performance today?

Still don't think he could cut it in the Prem?

    Don't make me laugh.

I don't think he can cut it in a Play Off Final. Think we can both agree on that.

Did he play better than at Wembley?

Me...don't get me wrong we all love the little one but his poor decision making, missing out on the simple ball and sometime selfishness is often overlooked as he performs 2/3 bits of magic. Step up a league and he wouldn't get the opportunity to perform those bits of magic and will turn into a player who gives the ball away a lot

Not even trying to wind you up, but thought he was pretty average. Handed the goal on a plate and would have been a bad miss for him not to score that.

TBF, Forestieri's influence on the team extends some way beyond just scoring goals, as SWFC fans have been so keen to testify so often.

How did Villa play? Just as bad as last season for the most part, average at best, either way did Fessi play a part in making them look that way? Or were they actually pretty good, much revitalized under their new manager, and it was a hard fought win for Wednesday?

0-0 would have been fair from what I watched. Missed the first 20 mins though. McCormack missed a very decent chance for Villa, but neither side looked great IMO.

  15. Villa looked a pretty nothing championship outfit

Villa a shade unlucky but tbf SW looked far more potent before Fletcher was injured.

Still only scored half as many goals this season as Assombalonga, who is younger, cost less and qualifies as home grown. I suspect Assombalonga is more likely to be the first of the two to reach the Premiership.

Just like Deeney when we were in the Championship, if he was any ****ing good he'd have joined a Premier League club by now.

    No thank you.

Was Deeney ever available for transfer at any point like Forestieri was?

Wasn't Deeney linked with several Premiership clubs while we were in the Championship? In fact, didn't we reject a bid or two from Premiership teams?

I agree, but if both keep scoring in the Autumn they look like prime January panic buys for Premiership clubs needing goals to get out of trouble. I reckon Wednesday will fight harder to keep hold of their players than Forest

It was a bad mistake by the keeper but not an absolute gift. FF anticipated well, had a good first touch and finished coolly.

I've only seen him playing for Wednesday on TV, but he does seem to have matured and his finishing has improved. He obviously enjoys being the main man, but I don't hold that against him - so does Troy.

His game has the inventiveness that we sorely lacked last season. I haven't seen any of our friendlles live , so I'm looking forward to going to Southampton to see whether any of our new signings add that element of unpredictability.

Every player is available for transfer. It's simply a question of how much you need to offer to make it happen.

Since it's become evident that he is very much the quality player that most of us thought he was, I'd say that the sooner you can accept that we screwed up, the sooner we can move on.

When he does it in the Premier League and not the Championship then you can say that.

This thread will keep on going as long as Fessi's playing career if a fan of another club comes on here to make noise about every goal he fires in or assist he gets credited with.

It was clear to everyone he was quality player. What's (still) yet to be seen is whether he's capable of doing it at the top level.

  33. Douglas Rinaldi

Is that our gauge of a good player now? God help us if that's the case.

The Championship is an excellent source of players for the Premier League. it has far more in common than most of these other random worldwide leagues we seem to acquire players from.

  34. GoingDown

    GoingDown "The Stability"

Meh. Name me one player that has made the step up from the Championship to the Premier League.

See, you can't. And you ran out of time Douglas, so don't try and respond now as it doesn't count.

  35. Hornet23

    Hornet23 First Team

Yeah that's lovely, he still hasn't done it in the Premier League and until that happens everyone here wetting themselves everytime he scores are the ones who have to move on.
