The problem with the "why" strategy is that it's usually based on nothing other than fake news sites/conspiracy blogs. They start from a position of "all of the mainstream media are liars" and proceed to dismiss all credible sources as biased or lying if it disagrees with their point of view.

The main issue with a discussion with people like Lahren is they dismiss anything contrary to their own opinion out of hand and without doubt while being willing to tell absolutely shocking whopping lies to support themselves. These lies don't stand up to scrutiny, but the problem is that scrutiny isn't being applied (or if it is, comes from the "lying" news/research outlets).

I came to TDS late (just as Colbert started) and in my 12-odd years of watching the show, she was the first guest, who when announced at the start of the show, was met with absolute silence.

I think that's more down to most people not actually knowing who she is than anything else.

Unless you frequent certain cray-cray areas of the internet, you don't really run across her particular brand of bull****. I'm not sure Noah did anyone a favour by giving her more mainstream exposure.

Have finished going through all episodes and enjoyed it thoroughly. The reviewer you quoted in your other post is a moron. The characterization in Oz is second to none and some of the performances are amazing. The stories are thoroughly engrossing and thought provoking. It truly is one of the best TV shows of all time and I suggest some of the other people look it up whilst it's available on Sky Box sets.

Last episode of WestWorld tonight. Can't wait but also sad that it's coming to an end (for now).

Last episode of Westworld was superb, such a shame we have to wait for the next season.

My all-time favorite one star amazon reviews are for the wonderful Monkey (I can't quite justify the 50 sheets for it....yet):

I'm actually enjoying Walking Dead this season although I haven't watched this week's episode.

    I'm also watching:

Trailer Park Boys - Absolutely hilarious, takes a couple of seasons to get into it though.

Stella - Ruth Morgan show, really easy to watch. Just about to start series 5.

Westworld -Only watched the first 7 episodes and it wasn't really until the end of the 7th episode that I got properly into it.

By any means - Another one of Charley Boorman's travel shoes, watched the first two episodes and loving it!

Westworld has been great. Difficult to follow initially but you get there in the end, loved it.

Just binge watched the firs 9 episodes of The Exorcist (the series), some of the possession sequences did spook me (not as much as the original movie), however, storyline is jumpy, script is a little cringeworthy and some of the acting is pretty wooden...having said that, I want to see what happens...(there's a showdown in the next episode)

Finally got round to watching the most recent Black Mirror season which I really, really enjoyed (favorites were "Nosedive" and "Shut Up and Dance" even the weakest episode "San Junipero" showed what an immensely talented and inventive writer Brooker is - I wonder what he would do with a "Star Wars"?).

The second series of "The Man in the High Castle" really used the world created in the first series (and novel) to show just how good story telling (and character development - the vast majority of whom were absolutely disgusting) in a TV show can be. Possibly the best thing I watched all year.

Also, I was very disappointed with Rectify's final series. Such a shame as the previous three series were as close to flawless television as I have ever seen (cf "I, Claudius" or "The Leftovers" - which is back for a, much anticipated, final series this year).

Didn't really understand the first episode of WestWorld so I gave up.

    Shall I pursue?

    No.

Snore fest of a show, good actors and locations but you'll get fed up of watching the girl in the blue dress drop the tin of beans for the 34th time. Goes literally nowhere and the twists are boring.

    No, don't bother.

Yep, it's great. All of the 'not understanding' stuff is more than explained throughout the show.

Yes, yes and yes. Stick with it - all the twists are ultimately explained and are worth the wait. Also, the writers do drop breadcrumbs of clues that you can follow if you're minded to. It's a brilliant series.

Finished off SOA last night. Very good as a storyline and well acted, but the clumsy symbolism and biblical references actually made me cringe a bit at times.

    Absolute quality television.

You think 'aha' when you guess a twist, like the umbrella, and then they just throw another 5 at you.

The problem with Sherlock is the annoying voices of Moriarty and Culverton Smith from the second episode of this series.

Taboo is quite good, considering it's the BBC, albeit a little confusing at times. Perhaps it's just me but the audio seems a little bit off and hard to hear at times, perhaps it's just my settings though.

Been working my way through Vikings, almost up to season 4 now. Some episodes are brilliant and really have you on the edge of your seat, then there's other episodes which I can barely watch and almost put me off from carrying on watching.

Just searching the thread looking for something and I came across this post. I cannot reiterate how close to flawless television this is. Don't be fooled by the fact that it's 40 years old it's absolutely hypnotic - the actors' performances - every actor gives a performance of a lifetime are spell-binding. Very timely as John Hurt's Caligula is exceptional. This may be re-released to cash-in on his death - if so I urge ever forumer to get a copy.

So part of my Saturday routine is breakfast whilst watching the previous night's Real Time with Bill Maher (a lot of the shows are youtubed). Lahren's just been mentioned as one of next week's guests along with Leah Remini whose show, that began by exploring her relationship with Scientology, turned into something that was just astonishing to watch - because of "our" (aka norn iron's) libel laws is very unlikely to be ever shown on UK TV.

EDIT: Also Nick Helm's Uncle is available as a box set on BBC iplayer and it well worth the effort.
