I will name the pair of Coton and McClelland. Because at the time they were what was needed and also that I was a teenager loving my team during those years.
Worst for me is Senior, because of the high expectancy. Maeby he is unlucky in that he joined during a horrible time.

Best: T Coton, J McCellend, J Barnes.
Worst: k.dixon

 

Sarr is great but not on Barnes' level. Barnes was on a different planet. The English game has improved so much technically but in the early 80s Barnes stood out astronomically. Hard to imagine us ever finding a better player. One of his Liverpool team mates claimed he was the best player in the world for one season at Liverpool.
My favourite will always be Luther. He lit up my childhood with his all action displays.
Apart from those two McClelland was the 3rd best. No idea why he never played for a top club.

Helguson. Knew where the back of the net was and had no issue with getting stuck in and getting a whack or two in the process. A very likeable guy too

 

John Barnes or David Barnes ?

 

There are so many to choose from for a favourite. Mike Gatting must be up there but not for anything he did for us.
