Fa Investigation Into Bournemouth Incidents

Given both player conduct and rules for retrospective bans, do we think any of our players are likely to be handed retrospective bans, with the FA investigating the various brawls.

I think that given that’s it’s two yellows, JP’s one match suspension will stand. Chalobah’s ten yellow two match ban will too. Sarr is lucky. He seemed out of control but his conduct was seen and punished with a yellow card. Without that he might have faced a ban.

We had plenty of other players involved in some pushing and shoving and more which went unpunished. Who do we think might be facing retrospective punishment.

Love how 'play acting' is something that Leventhal says is being investigated.

    Lol.

I was right earlier in the week when I said we should have brought Troy and had him, walking boot and all, head-butt and throw the first cheating **** four rows into the stands. Would have prevented the whole mess.

I think Sarr might be in trouble. He went nuts for whatever reason. Even old Letvaegts couldn't hold him back.

Handbags that's it. I'm kind of pleased to see some passion for a change.

Scum FC to be liquidated. I almost felt like kicking in the screen when seeing that racist ***** Woodgate appear on screen all smug and self satisfied. Nothing would be more divine than seeing Barnsley or Cardiff pip the scum to sixth.

Leedsorn has already mentioned that Sarr "seemed out of control but his conduct was seen and punished with a yellow card. Without that he might have faced a ban." The FA do not normally take any further action when the referee has seen the incident and awarded a yellow card because that would undermine the officials.

However, Lerma might be in trouble. Voice of Reason reported - in another thread - that he watched The Quest TV Highlights show and that “They also discussed the brawl and the end and could not understand why Lerma walked away from the whole thing without even a yellow card and said in fact he probably should have got a red as he clearly raised his hands to the area of Cleverley's face. They qualified that claim by pointing out that Woodgate had said that Chalobah should have got red for the incident with Lerma because he had raised his hands near Lerma's face, ergo Lerma should have got a red according to what his own manager had said.” I doubt that the officials saw Lerma's behaviour because no action was taken by them.

Well I think Lerma should have gone. Yellow for the Chalobah incident - not the dive to the floor (although if the laws were better he would get punished for that) but because he rode Chalobah and just as he finally gets off him he brings his arm up into Chalobah around the neck / chin area. He then did the two hand shove on Clevs to start off the handbags at the end.

A day that will live in infamy. We will not forget.
The ***** was the worst offender on scum FC. Breaking into spasms on the floor at the slightest touch. No wonder our players were riled. Gosling was seething and that's saying something. Harrington the twit completely fell for their antics. He missed clear pulls on our players Sarr especially and a kick to the groin from chavbag on Pedro and Cook flying into Hughes after the ball had gone. Also Stanislas. You could probably hear his scream in London it was so loud at the slightest of contact from Masina. Perhaps Hollywood could ask him to do a Wilhelm.

Nothing but a bunch of filthy facking *****s yet again bringing the game into disrepute.

Nothing would surprise me in how the FA deal with matters,or rather do not deal with matters.
I accept that I am completely biased but Lerma has to be banned.
Both clubs will receive fines as wfc4ever says.

I hope Lerma gets a 5 game ban. In a video shown, Smith clearly throws a punch at Sarr and connects, this is when Gray came in to try and smack him back, but Ekong finally decided to stop something. Just a shame it was Gray’s swinging fist. Smith should be banned but I doubt they do anything.

I'm concerned - don't the FA come down harder on player's retaliation then actually fouling?

I'm sure it'll just be the standard fines for each side for not controlling their players.

Can tell it’s Smith fist that catches him in the face because it’s the only white hand in that melee. I’ve watched it multiple times and he definitely punches Sarr. If someone had the ability to slow that down you would see it even clearer.

I think someone seemed to hit Sarr, or at least attempt to hit him. But then it looks like Gray tried to hit someone as well. Could be down to Perica on Wednesday. I'm sure it'll be just fines for both clubs and a few slaps on the wrist though.

Still can't believe that Wilshire told the ref to **** off directly to his face with no repercussions at all... Nasty piece of work...typical of a Lt.n fan

That Smith bloke that never floored Sarr with a sucker punch right hook needs to take a long look at himself in the mirror. He definitely never needs to get involved in a 1 v 1 straightener

That is too funny. Looks like Andre throws a punch and he hits, or it’s blocked by WTE? Story of his life poor bloke.

Any truth in the comments about him hitting Rico in the tunnel?

  25. So Gray finally hits something he's aiming at then?

No idea if it’s true or not. I hope it is though, sounds like he sparked Rico out if it is true.

I'm not a football fan of AG but if he has come in swinging, defending his teammates, then he is ok by me

Just coming back to the fact that Sarr will probably escape punishment because of the yellow card already given - that's a bit of a silly rule isn't it. A bit absurd that someone could receive a worse punishment than an opponent or teammate who committed a worse offence simply because the referee noticed it at the time and didn't notice the other offence.

I do wonder the extent to which the ref's clear error earlier in the match surrounding one of the contentious moments will make the FA less interested in investigating too much and relitigating the match. Not the finest hours for players or officials clearly.

Maybe Smith or Lerma get some sort of punishment, possibly Gray and Rico too if rumours of their clash in the tunnel is true too. But a fine to both clubs seems likeliest of all.

It actually looks like a backhand, but he's clearly hit in the face.

Another cringeworthy football brawl. How can highly trained athletes be so utterly inept at landing haymakers? Kelso would effortlessly batter the lot of them.

Both clubs should be fined for being a shower of absolute fannies.

On the original it looked like Sarr hit him just beforehand. But I think he might be saved if that is the only camera angle as couldn't see for definite. Can you slow that down too? Thanks

Is this the part you are on about? Looks like Sarr swings an uncontrolled arm at the start, then just after lunges potentially with a punch but can't see, then gets hit in the face.
