Great draw Chelsea playing Manchester United and we have a winnable game. Not overly bothered about who we get, Q.P.R. would be nice and local and we would have a large following for it. Hopefully we play a stronger team in the next round surely the club can see that we have a chance of making the final this season.

    Happy with that draw.

Genuine question - why is this Alex Scott person everywhere football related? Sky. BBC. And now cup draws. Not that she is any worse than some of the trash male pundits, but she certainly adds no insight whatsoever.

    Not sure I agree.

    Chelsea v United (obvs)
    Doncaster v Palace
    Wimbledon v Millwall
    Boro/Newport v City

I would say ours probably sits roughly equal to those last two and perhaps alongside Brighton (if they win) v Derby. More chance if Pompey win the replay (famous old club, and all that).

I wanted the full team out last Saturday, but think your right the team on Saturday have done enough to justify another go, if we win this I guess Javi would have to think about putting out the strongest possible team which in many ways seems a bit unfair on the likes of Gomes - but at the end of a day I would loves us to at least get to the final

Can't imagine Wimbledon v Millwall would be on TV over us?

Think Gomes will play all the games. Didn't we play Pantillimon in the semi final last time because he was "cup keeper"?

  8. I think its quite nice for a small club like QPR to get to play one of the big boys

Maybe not, thought it might appeal as a “battle of the giant-killers”.

Am I right in thinking the TV picks happen before the replays? I do think Pompey will be much more attractive to TV than QPR.

That dive for Wickham's winner... [shudder]

  11. Have a feeling us v Palace will one semi final, and Man U v Man C the other

I have a suspicious feeling some strings could be pulled to make that the 12pm kickoff

Man City get such good draws in all the cups like burton instead of spurs and Chelsea and they seem to avoid all the big boys until they can’t avoid in the latter stages. I remember hearing a story about some of the balls being put in the freezer before hand. With Man City on course for a potential quadruple i can’t help thinking the FA are atleast helping them win 2 of them

I think Newport will perform the miracle of the century and knock out a Man City after they have dispatched middelsborough and then take out a Man U before collapsing to us in the final

Don't mind Luton milling around in Championship. Liverpool winning the league would be unbearable. I remember the 1980s and their fans are horrific when they are winning. Anyone but them (including the awful Man Utd and Chelsea)

Apart from pereyra and deulofeu (and maybe doucoure) there's only a gnats pube between the rest of the squad so it doesn't make difference. So long as those two are on the bench it's all good.

Outrageous dive from Brentford. Surely a retrospective ban (or is that only premier league?)

But QPR full house is still a small crowd. There would be a lot more Watford applying for tickets than could possibly get in.
Mind you, looking it up, I see Pompey's ground is hardly any bigger.

I expect it will be QPR Rangers,Pompey not in good form of late, although let's hope they improve tomorrow night!
Barnet having a good bash,3-3 now!

It's an FA rule so no reason why it shouldn't apply. Players below the PL have been punished before.

Would really like to see the club take this competition seriously and play the strongest team. Think I will be disappointed though. Would be galling to see a reserve team beaten by a pumped up lower league team who would have been carved apart by Delofeu, Pereyra, Capoue , Deeney and co and be left wondering what might have been.

Pompey are Kenny Jacketts team, so if they win the replay it's Watford v Watford, guaranteed result

I think I'm right in saying QPR are geographically closer to us than that Bedfordshire lot, so the true local derby possibly awaits

I disagree. She's far more thoughtful than most of the pundits. In football and cricket there's always a female voice around now, and I haven't noticed any deterioration of quality. It's nice to have some fresh viewpoints

More importantly, has a club ever won the Cup by making 11 changes and playing away in every round?
