Oh, I think in these 50/50 games luck always plays a part, don’t you?

50/50? You played Doncaster in the last round m8, this round you’re playing Watford.

I don’t understand what Doncaster has to do with this game being 50/50.

Do you reckon it has something to do with the ease with which you can jump on a train at East Croydon and be in Brighton in no time at all hardly?

When I lived in Norwood, we always went to Brighton. Not for football or anything. Just to go out and that. It seemed like Croydon and Brighton were close together for that reason.

Oh and I hate Palace too. I didn't mind 'em until they closed down Beanos Record Shop and the best pub in sarf London - the Tamworth Arms. Utter disgrace.

Well they do say Brighton is Croydon by the sea...

Used to work very close to the Tamworth arms and popped in a few times. How did palace close it?

Well, it was a bit of a tenuous connection admittedly. First of all, some Irish bloke was given the tenancy and he ruined it. Didn't know how to keep the beer properly and even painted the lovely walnut bar top white with Dulux paint. Absolutely ruined a classic Youngs pub that had even made several appearances in The Bill.

Not long after that, the place closed down altogether and got converted into housing. A terrible shame. A popular pub ruined by a stupid decision by Youngs. And being as Youngs are based in South London, some of the people who made that decision, they're bound to be Palace fans I'd reckon.

Oh no. I can never forgive 'em for it.

So Zaha is out. That's made most of this thread redundant in one fair swoop!

Was a beautiful little pub. Spitting distance from that furniture store that got burnt down in the London riots

Well, that's my stay on this forum over then.
The game was pretty much as we all expected, extremely tight. It was always going to be 2-1 either way IMO. Little bits of luck just haven't been with us this season as I have mentioned before, and today was a prime example of that. I think it would be fair to say that today the footballing Gods came down in your favour.

Anyway, I suppose congratulations are in order so there you go, well done.

It's just devastating to think that our season has collapsed in the space of seven days...

Other than Mariappa's moment of madness you never really troubled us.

I don’t know, we had enough of the ball in and around your box, but I suppose you’re right in the sense that we didn’t create too many clear cut chances. Then again, neither did you

Wow, I thought Man City would be absolutely battering Swansea already (could still do in the end). Once again league form goes out of the window in this competition...

Wow, Swansea two up, hope they can do what we couldn't against city when we played them and hold on.

Be gracious to admit now we are better than you this season. Knocked you out of the cup, about 7-8 places above you in the league, 10 points above you and an aggregate score of 6-3. Fine margins yes. Luck, no.

I fear Youngs are even worse than you suggest.

They are now based in Bedfordshire!

Wouldn’t the Youngs people be Chelsea, with senior management preferring rugby?

Swansea value for the lead. Great 2nd goal. Cups got our name on it?

You know what will happen. Swansea and Milwall get through, but we draw United in the semi.

I'm only saying this to tempt fate.

Good thing is Swansea keep the ball well so hopefully won't just sit in and let Man C play all over them.

No VAR as it's at a Championship ground I'm guessing? Poor decision, he can't have been sure it was a foul from his position.

Typical refereeing performance there. Top six get all the decisions. Feel for Swansea.

And Aguero clearly offside for what will likely be the winner. Can't have a small team winning it...
