I think that both G D's goals that day were brilliant, not just his first.

IMO his winning goal was very nearly as good as his first and on another day would have been lauded as a stunning goal, had he not already scored an even more stunning goal earlier.

 

Very much agree with this. Regarding Pereyra, throughout his time with us I feel he has always been sometimes brilliant, sometimes average and sometimes anonymous. Likewise Deulofeu. Perhaps that’s what separates the truly great players from the very good ones like those two: consistency. However I would far rather see players like this in a Watford shirt, and be sometimes frustrated by them, than the lesser skilled journeymen we have been used to seeing over the years.

 

Exactly this. If players like Pereyra and Deulofeu were more consistent, Juventus and Barcelona perhaps wouldn't have let them go. Pereyra played in the Champions League final the season before he joined us, he was that good. The Wolves game showcased just how good those two, and also the rest of the squad, can be if they put their minds to it.
