    How'd that go?

Or is it one of the too rude to repost ones?

I always thought Jason Norville had the making of a decent Championship striker based on his first few games under Lewington. Never capitalised on the initial promise and just faded away however

Boothroyd similarly seemed to rate Joel Grant and Theo Robinson but also never worked out here for either, although both went on to have decent careers, especially the latter

    How about Ken Charlery?

A bit sweaty at the end and rather stereotyped the Polish as being builders.

"Rasiak is polish, he wears a builders hat, and when he saw the east stand he said I'll finish that.

He hammers with his left hand he hammers with his right.

And when the east stands finished it still looks ******* ****e"

Of course - once gave him and Jamie Hand a lift from O'Neill's pub in Muswell Hill to Power League on Colney Hatch Lane (well, strictly speaking my mum did as she was driving, though I'd struck up the conversation with them).

Just trawled this thread to see if he’d been mentioned. Couldn’t actually remember if I’d imagined he played for us.

My contribution, Marco Motta. Came in and did a job for a few games in our promotion season. He almost scored an absolute worldy against, I think, Reading at home if I remember rightly.

Got sent off v Derby in the 2-2 late in the promotion season.

I remember him getting sent off at Vicarage Road when he got a second booking for bouncing the ball in frustration after having a free kick given against him, would have to look it up to see who it was against though.

As stated was awful for us and took about 3 years after Vialli left before we got rid him and his stupidly high wages.

The only appearance of his I remember was Crewe away when he came on at half time and was stretchered off about 2 mins later after getting knocked out.

Does Gareth Williams count? Not sure he ever played a match for us, but remember the hope we had when we signed him from Leicester

Edit: played 3 times, got injured against Chelsea and then spent 2 years out of action before retiring

@wfc4ever add Damien Francis to Gareth Williams and Calum Davenport who all got injuries that ended their careers after playing just a handful of games for us.
    There’s probably others

I felt the same way about Norville, but looking back, I’m almost certain my feeling was based on him being pretty handy on CM01/02.

Davenport is another one I'd forgotten about - seemed a very good prospect from what I recall.

It wasn't his injury with us that was the final "nail in the coffin" for his career though it seems:

There was a Brazilian striker who was supposedly one of Aidy's first signings but never actually arrived at the club. I can't remember his name. Also who could forget Douglas Rinaldi.

    I know.
I remember him jumping into the crowd at Hemel Pavilion and throwing punches.
Some great gigs at the Pavilion.
    In the 70's/80's:
    Punk/Indie Rock played Hemel Pavilion
Heavy Metal played St Albans City Hall
    Pop/Disco/Cheese played Bailey's Watford

I googled him. He had an amazing 2 year stint at Fulham from 07/09 making 0 appearances. I liked him and was a bit disappointed when he went to QPR, but remember speaking to a supporter at Preston away that he (cook) supported QPR, so don’t blame him as id of gone to Watford in a heart beat for same reasons.

    Yes he did support QPR.

Was a decent player on his day but frustrating in the same as all wingers are.

Remember he played a key role in us staying up in 2004.

Another player who suffered a bad knee injury and just to show transfers weren't perfect Pre - Pozzo his transfer promoted a law suit from Aylesbury.

Unfortunately there was never any cheese on offer at the teen discos I went to in the early 80s. It was special brew and ciggies outside with bad haircuts and worse dancing inside. A quality Stilton couldve made all the difference.
