It was him or Mooney for a perm. I hoped it was gonna be Bailey. Tommy took a while to settle to be fair, but how he repaid us.

Genuinely no recollection, even after googling him, though I'd have been watching or following every one of those 15.

    What about his dad, Matt?

Not forgetting Ibarbo, Diamanti, Oulare, and Zarate since we have been in the PL. Must be others as well that I cannot recall at the moment.

I doubt many will remember this name
    Richard Flash?
    One appearance in 1997.
I remember being so excited when we signed him even though i knew nothing about him (apart from what i read in Match or Shoot magazine)
He lived with Beckham and played with the Man utd youth teams of giggs, scholes etc.
Apparently Liverpool & Arsenal were after him but We got him and after that one appearance (as sub i think) we never saw him again!

    Injury wrecked his career

I'll never forget Liam Bridcutt - one of the most dull footballers I've ever had the displeasure of seeing in the yellow shirt.

No doubt a fair bit of it was down to Rodgers' instructions, but his passing was beyond tedious.

Our youth wonder striker, Fabian Forde ? Think GT gave him his debut in the emotional goodbye at a Turf Moor. Made no impact and I don’t believe ever played for us again once Vialli was in place.

More appearances in the court room though.

Les Ferdinand in semi-retirement back in 2006.

Ex-Hibernian legend Yves Makabu-Ma-Kalambay also in that season. Shame he didn't turn out in goal as it would be a wonder to see that name crammed onto the back of a shirt.

Whittingham’s greatest contribution was in an interview he did at the time of the 98/99 run-in after he had lost his place in the team. He said he had never known such a close-knit dressing room as that one and there was no way that Watford wouldn’t be going up through the play-offs. He was right. I loved that team.

If only he could have shown that Rochester, Cray or Walton form for us. I knew there was a real quality goalscorer in there.

Johnny Jackson, started at Spurs then came to us on loan for a couple of months in early ‘05.
He went on to play alot of games for Charlton

He was one of the 4 trouble makers that Joka got rid of before we went on our run to promotion - Dyer, Ranegie and..McGuigan ? Binned them off and suddenly things were looking up

The only thing I remember about him was signing him on Championship manager 92 or 93 when I wasted far too many hours playing that game. He was a decent player on there

He only made 4 appearances for us but 370 for other clubs after us! with 150 before us I think his face didn't fit, now the Manager of Staines Town!

Tony Agana, was one of Bassett's signings and went on to play for him at Sheffield United. I crossed paths with him a few years ago at a trade show, he was working as an accounts manager for a Maltese betting firm at the time.

Keith Cassells. Just a few games for us at the start of his career but later joined Herts Police and could be seen at Watford games under the scoreboard.

Glyn Hodges doesn't get many mentions but was easy to watch, for me anyway.

The other player I only remember when something like this thread appears is Ray Train.
I can't remember exactly why I was excited by his signing but he scored a last minute equaliser on his debut and, as a young child, it meant he was nothing short of being a God. Turned out he was just short.

Plus, I’m going to say Richard Hill...think GT signed him towards the end of a season and agreed to let him stay at his current club. Now I think that’s when GT left, and Dave Bassett came in, Richard Hill rocked up for pre season, Bassett didn’t fancy him and shipped him out ( Reading or Oxford?) It was all long ago, so some or all of that might be wrong
