When I lived in Germany, I watched 1FC Nurnberg fairly regularly. At that club at least, it was the done thing where the announcer would shout the first names and the crowd responded with the surnames. When they scored, the announcer would shout out the first name and the crowd would rapturously respond with the surname; but I don't think it was done if it were a mere consolation goal.

 

I've been interviewed by Emma, and bumped into her on a night out in Watford before - nice girl and much better than Shorty.

 

I nearly gave the bloke behind me an education on Saturday when he pronounced our Dutch winger's name as 'Berg-wheece'
Agree she did a very competent job with the teams and announcements

 

I'd like a more partisan announcer if I'm honest. Something like 'the third Arsenal goal scored by that fackin cant Ramsarse'.
