Apparently Hugo Lloris spotted in the warm up for Spurs' Europa League qualifier last night the goalposts didn't seem to be right. Mourinho agreed, moaned to UEFA and sure enough they turned out to be 5cm short. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54272598 No suggestion of foul play, yet the club concerned had a proper set out back ready to replace the dodgy set. Hmmmm.
Maybe they just lifted the existing set out of the ground put 5cm fillers in the goalpost holes and put the same set back.
Years and years ago,1983 I think, Hertfordshire LTA went into partnership with Queenswood School and refurbished their ropey old tarmac courts into 16 new astro. There was a grand opening and the now president of Herts LTA kept looking quizzically at the service boxes as we were warming up for a mixed match. After a while he said "there's something wrong with the service boxes". Everyone laughed and said it was his serve. All of the service boxes were too short, every one on all 16 courts! Get Stubbs to do it!
Seems hard to believe it was deliberate, since the home team would have needed to attack that goal at some point and would have made their own job harder too.
