Do we have any chance whatsoever?

Opta say the last 9 teams have gone down, not all of them.

For us to stay up you have to rip up the rule book. No one has ever done it until someone does it.

Now we have the right coach in place I’ve gone from 100% certain relegation to possible survival. But the wins HAVE to come over the next three games. We cannot afford to look at another fixture this season as a free hit.

Let’s be honest, we’re only 3 horror results from being on the right side of the drop line.

Brighton, Burnley and West Ham at home were all killers. The other results, by and large, were expected or acceptable. We even got a point at Spurs which has to fall into the bonus category.

The point I’m making is, even though we’ve been a disaster so far, performances have clearly improved recently. We are still in touch with fourth from bottom.

It’s not all over yet, despite what the omens say. But we do need to win at least two of the next three in order to gain some momentum.

Momentum is what brings belief and togetherness. When you have that it’s amazing what can be achieved.

Also, if other teams could do us a favour that would help. It is much more likely we could get to 35 points (or lower) than 40 points. Still a massive stretch though.

Amazingly we are only 6/7 points off safety, trouble is that means we need exactly those three teams to all do worse than us.

the Bournemouth result was the only only particularly bad result for us yesterday. Otherwise it is pretty much as we were from last week.

  5. If just one of our strikers could hit the side of a barn door I would say yes we have a slim chance. They can't. We are down.

If we keep Pearson I have faith we will rebuild quickly and come back up better.

I genuinely believe we will stay up if we buy a striker in January who is in any way competent.

Welbeck is a write off so we ignore him.

We just need an average striker, who can cleanly strike a football and not panic when presented with a goalscoring opportunity.

We create more than enough chances to win our games, even now. And we don't need aguero on the end of them, just a striker with basic competence. Even for our horrendous scouting team it shouldn't be hard to find someone with a bit of composure capable of kicking a ball cleanly, as that is the very essence of being a striker... I am thinking Danny Webber more than Danny Graham here, even a Will Hoskins would be able to tuck these chances away

Flores' first game was an encouraging 2-2 draw v Arsenal ..

The next game was that disaster at Man City !

Ofcouse I don't expect a repeat next week but maybe a little warning.

At Man City we were caught cold from the off and we never recovered - mental fragility - there was no one organising or leading - also the fact that every deflection seemed to go in.
