We are now 2/1 to make the play offs.
Yes agree on that.
Certainly going to have to keep playing well and not get complacent.
No we're making automatic promotion possibly even Champions!!!
The good thing about Betfair is when you're completely wrong about something, (couldn't have been more wrong about this one), then you can trade out of it with minimal loss. I seem to be getting good at doing that recently
Cheers Clive, but I still don't think we'll make the playoffs.
We can safely disregard this thread. The aim is to avoid the playoffs altogether by finishing second and if things do go our way first.
I'm surprised it was that close even at the time (I presume there was a time limit on this poll?). We still had an eight-point lead on 7th and surely something was bound to happen to help us get there, even it meant getting yet another manager.
It was set up after the *QPR game which was the same day as the end of the transfer window then we had the disappointing result at Coventry so people were peeved and annoyed with everything.
*Let's hope their last minute winner doesn't cost us 2nd!
You have to allow for the fact that we had what looked very much like the new manager bounce wearing off. What had got us in the playoffs was largely irrelevant at that point, it was easy to see the situation going only one way. Thankfully the formation change came along.
Was bored so I thought I’d take you up on your offer ....
And you may be right, we may not make the playoffs now ...
Didn't see, Clive got in first..
Kind of glad it wasn't a new manager, for all Xisco's faults, he's done something to get this form out of this team, better this change in formation than changing the manager, continuing with hoofball to a half-fit Deeney in a 4-4-2. If we'd done that, maybe we'd have had a brief upturn in form to just about secure our top 6 place before inevitably getting embarrassed by Bournemouth or someone in the play-offs
I don't know, it was after the Coventry game when Xisco's position looked most under threat, where Deeney was injured - so surely whoever replaced Xisco also wouldn't have picked him? But like you say, we might not have had such a good run of results and performances and the manager might not have got so much out of our squad as Xisco has to his credit.
We are more likely to win the league (we won't) than miss out on the top 6. A hell of a turn around tbh.
I'm sure Deeney does have an injury, but he's been known to play through injuries in the past, so...
How did that work out for us?
