What the absolute feck is going on with our club. I'm an overseas Watford FC fan with no actual links to Watford itself.. The only information I get generally comes from the club. I don't have many friends that support Watford (exception of a few converts over the years, these fans generally rely on me for insight) I don't subscribe to The Athletic so that avenue is closed for me. The clubs ability to communicate is diabolical. Troy Deeney has been on every sports media channel over the past few weeks Of course there is merit in speaking about BLM and Covid19 but surely there is merit in addressing the Watford fanbase about the ongoing battle for survival in the premiership. Our teams looks like they're in mourning and nothing bar a few sound bites and cliches is all we're fed. As a fan I want to see some leadership, if not from the players, then from the manager but if neither are forthcoming Scott Duxbury needs to be addressing us fans. I've never walked out of a football match in my life and as an Irish football fan trust me I've had more than my fair share of reasons to do so. On Sunday I would've walked out... Apologies for the rantiness of this post, never thought football would affect my mental health fair play Watford you've excelled in something.
I liked your post as soon as I read the bit in bold. The communication from the club is shockingly bad and has been ever since Pozzo bought us. I can always accept losing, but I cannot accept a lack of effort. I believe I have seen both of these from Watford since football resumed. As a ST holder, whether or not we get relegated, I would like to see some sort of statement from Pozzo as to what exactly has gone wrong this season and how he's going to rectify it. Unless I see this, I don't see how I can renew my season ticket. I refuse to pay hundreds of pounds a year only to see a lazy, disorganised and frankly embarrassing rabble of men dressed in yellow jog aimlessly around a football pitch earning far, far more than they deserve.
Thanks for replying, agree the Pozzo have never got the communication channels right.. I'm not asking for much, just an acknowledgment from our Club captain thst things are bad and they're working hard to rectify.... His silence only indicates that he is part of the Problem which I doubt is the case. At this stage I'm in the give the captaincy to Will Hughes and stop substituting him Nigel.
What we need is a Richard Johnson or DeMerrit Character. Strong in a challenge and gets everyone roused for a fight. These pansies lie down too much.

It's possible you might be looking in the wrong place. The club Facebook page has a lot of updates on it, often multiple in a single day. I think the Facebook page has become their primary source of communication (which is pretty consistent with most companies, to be honest; it's usually far easier to add a social media post than to update a website). That's a reasonable request, but it's a different from the club not communicating at all. Modern analytics make it really easy for businesses to work out where web traffic comes from. They focus on the mediums that are 1) easiest to update and maintain and 2) reach the most people. The vast majority of businesses nowadays push most updates out via the social media holy trinity (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) because that's where most people consume from. Reach is simply easier and faster from social media. Websites tend to be updated less frequently (usually because they're a lot more complicated than the majority of non-technical people can manage, and there is a lot more that can go wrong). Most traffic to websites nowadays is also driven by social media posts linking back to the website. Having said that, it wasn't that long ago that we all had to wait for the Wobby to come out so we could read a bunch of Watford news once a week, so I suppose we've become a tad spoiled.
God the media output from our club is so toe curlingly bad. Today a scuffed volley from Welbeck was tweeted and Instagrammed like it was a worldy. Surely that's a level of trolling our own fans even HB1 wouldn't stoop to.
I deleted Facebook a while ago and Instagram more recently. After watching Brexit a very uncivil war I’m not sure why anybody has them anymore.
