    I believe the choice was either injection or the chair. I don't think the other methods are used anymore. Apparently the choice was offered.. as with another recent case.. because of problems supplying the necessary drugs for lethal injection and some controversy about the type of drugs used.

    The most recent person executed (David Earl Miller) had been on death row since 1982. I always wondered how they suddenly choose to go through with the executions they do. I know some are delayed because of legal proceedings but surely not for 36 years.

    Thanks for that just had a little read. I see some of the delay was down to arguments of method. The whole story just reinforces my point of view of being against the death penalty. The assumption that the chap had the same mental capacity as the general population was possibly flawed. It's why I'm for life means life in basic conditions.

    Gas chamber, leccy chair, lethal injection, hanging or firing squad

    A british hanging, the long drop, done properly so I didn't suffocate and wasn't decapitated. Death usually quite fast. Done badly not so good.

    Lethal injection. This has failed at times in the past. Can be very painful at site of injection also and prolonged,

    Electric chair. Again this has failed in the past. Is prolonged and painful. Just barbaric in some cases.

    Firing squad. Unless this is a bullet to the back of the head you aren't going to die immediately and it will be painful. not a bad option if they all aim and hit your heart

    Gas chamber. Cyanide sounds like agony. Horrible for spectators .

    If Im choosing I am going to go for a massive explosion (near enough instantaneous), guillotine (a few seconds til you are unconscious, brain death soon after) or possibly an asphyxiating gas/slow removal of oxygen whilst unconscious. (Takes longer but more or less ensures I wont notice a thing or suffer pain)

    I’d walk into the centre of Luton Town Centre wearing full Watford attire, and keep singing “Oh Watford We Love You”.

    Don’t know how long I’d survive but heck at least going out singing is better than most options.
