A great keyboard player. Really made the Stranglers sound.

 

Very sad. His keys really made the Stranglers stand out from the crowd. First album is fantastic start to finish.

 

Really sad. His keyboard added to the growling bass guitar of JJB and vocals of Hugh made the stranglers such a great band. Long term heart problems the article says....

Yes musically great and so much energy. "Down in the sewer" remains a personal favourite.

Forty years between the first and last time I saw them live.

 

Same here and I have tickets to see them at Brixton in November, although pretty sure they'll cancel - it's not The Stranglers without those swirling keyboards and I doubt anyone could master playing them the way he did. More than any other member, he was the sound of The Stranglers. RIP to a musical genius.
